Anne’s ghost is a busy one. She’s been seen in a lot of places, the most notiable one being the Tower. One guard who was patrolling one of the Tower buildings made a report to his captain that he had seen a bright misty light and out of the mist came a woman who he reconised as Anne from her clothing, and actually ran his bayonet through it thinking it was real as it was so vivid, this figure glided over to the window and turned to look aat him, but when it did he saw that it was headless. Of course the guard took to his heels.
Anne has also been seen at Hampton court, Hever Castle and at Rochford hall, where her sprirt is believed to arrive by a coach driven by her father, Anne’s Ghost is said to walk into the hall and promply disappear. This is said to happen every year on the 19th May.
Hampton Court houses many ghosts. K.H is the one that is more often felt rather than heard. Thomas Wolsey is also seen people who have seen his spirit decribe a man who is sad and looks with longing at the place he once called home. J.S is seen gliding about the silver stick gallery and there have been some reports of candlesticks being moved, (could J.S be moving them?) Henry as well has been seen too, a dragging sound is suppose be heard before he makes his appearence. Is this the sound of him dragging his ulcerated leg?
Hever Castle Anne is said to be seen in the window of one of the rooms. Is she watching for Henry to come and sweep her off her feet?
There is also a walk way which is believed to be the favourite spot where Anne used to walk when alive, the strange thing is that there are no birds said to make nests in the hedgerows around the place and no birds are said to sing in the area of this walk way.
There has also been seen by one guard many years ago a ghostly funeral procession carried out in St Peter Ad Vincula within the tower.
A guard seeing a light come on within the church decided to investigate finding the door’s locked and everything being in order he climbed up and looked through the window and saw a funeral taking place. He watched for a few minutes and just as quickly as he saw the light come on it was gone. He decribed the clothing worn by the people as being Tudor in look. He felt that he was watching Anne’s funeral.

Heidibullen My brother happened to stay one night in the Tower very near to where Anne was alledgely held waiting for the executioner to come over from France. He said that he didn’t see anything but he felt intence sadness and anger in the room that he stayed in..
I would imagine there would be all sorts of different feelings floating around in the Tower as so many people lost their lives there.
If it helps a little I have seen K.P’s ghost at Sudley Castle it was just a fleeting glimpse but I believe it was her.

Heidi I saw K.P in the very room where she gave birth to her daughter.. She was beautiful but looked very sad.
Sudley Castle is well worth a visit. Her effigy on her tomb in the church on the castle grounds shows a woman of strength and beauty.. K.P is also said to be seen walking in the gardens followed by children’s laughter. Is she looking for the child she never had a chance to be a mother to?

There is another ghost of a Victorian Housekeeper called Janet, who is mostly heard by residents but is seen by teenagers looking at them on the grand staircase. Her cat is said to be seen before she puts in an appearence.
Janet was a stern housekeeper who was in charge of not just the house but protecting the virtue of the young housemaids, as most of the younger maids were from Wales and away from their parents strict homes. Janet’s job was to prevent them from letting this freedom going to their heads and getting themselves into trouble (pregnancy usually by some local lad) When she died her spirit refused to let go of her job.

I found this a couple of months ago. On an initial search i was under the impression it may have been Anne but it seems and appears that it is more likely Henry himself. Have a look tho, i did a bit of research at the time and found this was the only mildly credible evidence of a tudor ghost. Do a search for HAMPTON COURT GHOST CCTV on Youtube. Enjoy, or not, dependent on whether you believe it or not, it certainly got me…

Well Gill it certainly seems as iif the paranormal is something that is of interest to you.. So I’ve written a little something for you to chew on.

Great Malvern is a very old town known for it’s Victorian water cure. But the town itself goes back a lot further than that.. It is actually mentioned in the Doomsday book, and Cradley which is a little villiage nestled into the western slopes of the Malvern hills was known for it’s quarry stone, which was used to build the Malvern Priory, which was up until the reformation under Henry 8th a working monastry, along with Little Malvern priory which was also dissolved.
There are a number of known hauntings in and around these areas and a curse laid down by a Monk.

A known sighting which a number of people have claimed to have seen is a man called Dr James Gully he was an advocate of the Water Cure which was made popular in the Victorian era and had many paitents who were well known in high sociaty. Dr Gully had his own practice in Malvern which was very popular. It was also said that he was quite freindly with Dr Crippen, who as we all know was hung for murdering his wife. Dr Gully was alledgely accused of murder, but I believe he died before he came to trial, anyway since then his spirit has been seen many times in his home.. He appears to be as solid as you and I and his features are clearly seen. He is described as a small well built gentleman in a long tail coat, smoking a pipe with whispy hair and beard and walks with a cane which can be heard tapping on the floor as he walks, with a very sad look on his face.. Dr Gully’s practise has been a pub and his ghost has been seen often in the basement looking at the people with concern when changing the barrels.
It is now a B.B, and some people still see and say they smell tobacco smoke as Dr Gully wonders around the building that was once his home and workplace.

Where I used to live in Malvern there is a Druid who walks down the path almost nightly stops outside one of the houses seems to spin around 3 times and then shoot up into the air.. I have seen this Druid and heard chanting whenever he is around. He doesn’t frighten me and the feeling when he is around is one of serenty and peace..Mistletoe is also abundant where his spirit walks.

The curse comes in by a Monk from Little Malvern Priory who confessed to his Abbot about having a sexual relationship with a woman from the neighbouring villiage.
The Abbot sentenced the Monk to pay penance, by crawling upthe side of the Ragglestone hill every day for as long as the Abbot deemed it. The Monk did as he was ordered but eventually after 2 months of this penance realising the inhuman behaviour he was being subjected to and finding out that the Abbot himself was doing the self same thing he confessed to, he went mad. One day after crawling up the side of the hill. He stood up stretched out his arms and said “May all those who fall in the shadow of the Ragglestone die as untimely as I do” and dropped down dead.. The curse is said to have claimed the lives of the Abbot, Thomas A Becket, Thomas More and Anne Boleyn. The shadow of the Ragglestone is cast on to a Tudor Manor house on the banks of the river Severn in a little place called Handley Castle, in Tudor times it was Castle Handley. H8 and Anne are said to have stayed at this house during one of their progresses when she was Queen.
On moonlit nights the Monk’s spirit is said to be still carrying out his penance.

There is also the ghost of a murdered servant, that roams around the Churchyard his tombstone in the churchyard bears a bloody handprint, which is said to bleed every year on the day he was murdered.
There is also the ghost of a woman and 2 small children who commited suicide by leaping in front of a train, she is seen by the tunnel which goes through the hills into Colwall. They are seen as a white mist which then appears to jump onto the track and disappear, many train drivers have reported seeing this phenomina.

There is also the misty pool every night regardless of the weather this pool is covered in a very thick layer of mist out of which can be heard the laughter of children and it’s also said if you look at the mist you will see little faces appear..

The British Camp was the last Roman strongholds left in Britain when the Roman packed up and went home, and a number of Roman Soliders have been seen and heard conversing in Latin on the hill. British camp is the gateway between England and Wales, once you go over the top of the hill you are in Wales. If you stand on top of the Beacon on a clear day you can see the Black mountains that so many invaders fell fowl of.
Malvern in Roman Times as Malverian. When archiologists excavated the site they found a number of Roman artifacts, but the als found the remains of what they believe was a Druid temple. There was also Druid artifacts such as Rune stones found on the Beacon too.

I used to live there so I know Malvern inside out, and know people who have seen these ghosts, including myself.

Fascinating. Being Australian I am very jealous of the history you have in the UK. We have a rich indigenous prehistory here, but as far as those kinds of ghost stories, there is not so much. One of my friends from alice springs told me of the indigenous spirits that dwell in the desert. She told me once when she was driving from adelaide to alice, through the great desert at night that when she stopped at a petrol station, the friend who was with her saw an almost perfect replica of my friend rachel, the replica walked out from the desert and into the phone box then walked back into the desert again, and when rachel came back to the car after paying for the petrol, the friend was so shocked she couldnt speak. I dont remember the name for them, but they are like aboriginal medicine men, they are not human but something spiritual, and they communicate between this world and the next. I am a medium myself, but do not openly admit it to anyone I know or usually meet. It is something I find personally very challenging, and I feel I dont have the emotional space to use it or to communicate messages etc to other people. As far as Anne is concerned, more than anything i get the feeling she is very busy, and is still desperately trying to win people over. Maybe thats why so many people are obsessed with her. I think there are so many who want to redeem her and her cause, but she will never be able to rest completely, although I dont feel like she is tortured or suffers, she just doesnt want to be forgotten. Be as sceptical as you want on that one, it wont bother me really, I understand that…

Tash I think the word you are trying to find is Doppleganger. It is said that if you ever meet your Doppleganger you will die..

Anne will never be forgotten, she sacrificed everything to be with the man she loved and he destroyed her.
She would probably be tickled pink the even after over 500 years later there are still people who remember what she did for England to make it a better place for us to live in. Just think if we could all travel back in time (which I believe Stephen Hawking proved in theory could be possible) Anne wouldn’t be the one who died on 19th May 1536. Henry would have done as we would have lynched the fat git.

Thanks but not doppleganger, it is something different entirely in indigenous aussie culture, i do know what a doppleganger is, the indigenous spirit men are much like medicine men, but live between the two worlds, and have supernatural powers, i will have to ask my friend rachel about it….she grew up in alice and her children are half aboriginal. I often find myself reading about anne, or watching something, and half hope that she would live and that somehow henry would just not know about it, but if that were so, maybe we would not be discussing her with such passion. Anne was brilliant, and what i would call an instrument. This term does not demeen her and her achievements, but her life and her story were not entirely in her control, but also not a result of her father or uncle etc. And although Henry put her to death, I think he must have felt a great compullsion to do it, otherwise he would not have went through with it. The big question is, where did that compullsion come from? She was destined for greatness, and her talents, as anyone who has great talents, were meant to be used in this world. Her brilliance did not so much bring her death, but made her stand out so that when she was killed so dramatically, that brillliance carried over and still carries over. Changing the past is a dangerous thing, if it is possible, I personally think that even speculating what would have happened if she’d had a son etc is pointless, the fact is her story is not only what made her amazing, but what changed the world. I do agree that someone should have lynched the fat pig instead, it amazes me more than anything else what women found so attractive in an obese smelly red headed git lol

Thanks to people who have added their stories here. Much appreciated and a lot of things i never knew and really enjoyed reading them.Laugh As well as A.B and the Tudors around her time, especially now Mary Queen of Scots personnel family ancestor interest. Ghosts i’m absolutely fascinated in, it’s the unknown and answerable. These few together i can not get enough information.

That would be amazing to see Anne’s spirit! I always wonder if one of us who support Anne were to see her would she sense the support. I hope she knows that there are people who believe in her innocence still to this day. She deserves to have peace.

Anne walks Worple Road in Isleworth, and her presence is particularly strong around Percy Road and Talbot Road which lead from Worple Road. I have sensed her with me in Syon Park and around All Saints Church in Isleworth. I have lived in the area all my life and we had family friends who lived on Worple Road when I was very young. Having had close contact with Anne’s spirit for all of my life, I can’t believe I’m so thick that I’ve only just put two and two together regarding Henry Percy, Mary Talbot and the Duke of Northumberland! She asked me to post this!

This is fascinating. I’m especially interested in your sighting of Katherine Parr, Boleyn, and would love to know more. How did she appear, did she look solid, what was she doing, was she walking, standing, sitting, were there any sounds, smells, sensations, did she look at you, how did it make you feel?

As for Anne’s ghost, and the many different sightings in many different places – can a person have more than one ghost, do you think? Or does the one ghost travel around? If a ghost is merely an impression that is left somewhere where something traumatic or especially good happened, then I think more than one ghost is feasible. What do others think?

Very interesting experiences. Thanks for sharing.

Women Only?

I was researching a book recently, and phoned Hever Castle (the childhood home of Anne Boleyn). While in conversation with a staff member, I asked if she had any experience of the alleged haunting(s) rumoured to happen at the castle. She replied that before entering one particular room – said to be Anne & her sister Mary’s shared bedroom – female staff feel strongly obliged to say “Good morning” or the like… Who knows, perhaps this is an ‘echo’ of the due courtesy paid to noblewomen by their servants in Tudor times? I must stress that, apparently, this isn’t a matter of choice on the staff members’ part – they actually feel as though they must do this before entering the room.

I’ve read of similar things before now, generally along the lines of ‘ghosts which only women can see’ etc etc & I’m really interested in people’s opinions on this: aside from a shared sense of injustice at the framing of Anne Boleyn; ‘female intuition’; and a concept of ‘sisterhood,’ can anyone suggest why it is that some supernatural phenomena, like this one, can apparently only be experienced by women? I’m wracking my brain to find a reason beyond the suggestions above…

Thanks for any insight you may offer.

When I saw K.P she looked solid but had a bright out line, a little like a kerlin photo, an aura that the word. I think she was just being nosey, wanting to now who see we all were. I am empathic anyway so all I felt was a sence of utter sadness, but there was no hint of malice in her. She just wanted people to now she was there. As for what she was doing she seemed to appear from nowhere and glide over towards the cradle, look down into it smile a sad smile and fade away.
On a slightly different note. I also believe that every person has a guardian spirit, some of us are fortunate enough to know who their guardian spirit is. In my case it’s my father, in 1985 my father died, (I was just 19) 6 weeks after his death I was involved in a serious life threatening RTA. I know I died that night, but as I was crossing I heard my dad’s voice saying no and a pair of hands appeared and pushed me back into my body.
4 days later I woke with a start in the middle of the night and shouted “Dad” he was stood at the end of my bed walked around and sat down and said “It’s alright Loopy you are going to be fine now, I’m here and I’ll always be here, when you need me.” and reached for my hand. when I awoke the next morning I felt something in my hand and when I looked there was my mum’s locket in my hand which contained a picture of him.
That locket I knew was in my mum’s jewellery box only a matter of days before my RTA and my mum hadn’t left my bedside for 4 days until that night. So how did it get there? He’s still about I see and hear him now and again. He follows my daughter everywhere, as she would have been his only grandaughter. I know when I decided on my daughters name he said “Well it’s certainly different that’s for sure, but mum (My Nan) won’t thank you for it.” and laughed He was right too my nan didn’t as I called my daughter. Pia (which was a name I love) Juliette (after my school freind) Frances (my nan) My Nan said “what do you want to name her Frances for? It’s a horrible name” (My nan was still alive by the way) He often used to appear by Pia’s cot and she could see him too as she often smiled and giggled at him.
