Hi Sophie1536, I would love to see a full length portrait of Anne! I think the dress was black with a rich brown fur on the arms.. perhaps a brown petticoat with gold detail showing through at the skirt… Black was the most expensive colour due to the dying process and only the most fashionable Ladies at court wore it- sounds spot on for Anne! (The kind ladies in Tudor costume at Hampton Court Palace told me this during the repro of H8 marriage to Katheryn Parr- I was wearing black and they pointed me out as a teaching aidl!)

I visited Warwick Castle in 2008. The castle is owned by Madame Tussauds and they had Henry and his six wives on display. I'm not sure if this remains, or of they've been moved elsewhere.
I took some photos of them. Anne is wearing a close interpretation of her famous NPG portrait. The head dress is not great, but the gown is pretty: black, outlined with brown fun, and the kirtle is a burgundy (the best colour description) damask.
The figure itself is rather poorly done. It looked like the nose fell off at some point and it was stuck haphazardly on.

I read she liked to wear alot of darker colors. I think one of the only times i've read her wearing a bright color was when Katherine died and Henry + Anne were said to of worn yellow. On her execution she wore dark grey and red. But yeah the dress in the potrait is probably all black and maybe some designs.
• Grumble all you like, this is how it’s going to be.

I did read, although cant remember where, that Anne liked to wear black, I expect as E states because it was the most expensive and fashionable.
E, I also saw the repro of the wedding when I went to Hampton court. I thought that one of the guards was a bit too realistic and was quite scared
When did you see it? I was there in September- they were very realistic! Thomas Seymour looked me up and down- I think I could have had a date with him!
