I OFTEN WONDERED WHAT KIND OF LIFE SHE WOULD OF HAD, IF SHE DID GIVE BIRTH TO A SON. WOULD HENRY STILL LOVE HER FOR WHO SHE WAS, OR WHAT SHE HAD GIVEN HIM. WOULD JANE SEYMOUR PLAY A MAJOR PART STILL IN HIS LIFE. COULD ANNE'S LIFE AT COURT GOT BETTER OR WORSE. I KNOW I SHOULDN'T THINK OF THE COULDA, WOULDA, SHOULDA'S. BUT IT'S WHAT I WOULD HAVE LIKE TO BEEN OF READING ABOUT HER NOW. THEN AGAIN WOULD SHE STILL HOLD THE SAME FACINATION, BE THE SAME PERSON OR SOFTEN NOW SHE HAD A SON/S.
FATE TELLS MY STORY.

I think that if Anne had given Henry a son, she would have been his “favourite” wife and her position would have been safe. I think, too, that he would have had other mistresses in time – it was the thing that men of status did at that time. Having a son would have saved her life, but I don't think it would necessarily have saved their love.
