Congrats on choosing your dissertation!
There are a number of ways to approach this, I think. One potential angle is examining the claim that Henry and Anne’s courtship was tantamount to sexual harassment, a theory put forward by author Karen Lindsey, against the evidence– the Vatican letters, her acceptance of his proposal with a gift that likely would have put her into debt (the golden ship with diamonds would have, according to Ives)/ that she had to borrow for, their dual letter to Wolsey, the report from Chapuys that her uncle, the Duke of Norfolk, had told him that Anne spoke very harshly to her father and him when they did not support her relationship with the king, etc.
As for her downfall, there is a lot to read about that, too, to start with ideas. Suzannah Lipscomb has some interesting ideas about it in her documentary “The Lovers Who Changed History” and also her book “1536: The Year that Changed Henry VIII”. The best article I have read on the matter was “Rethinking the Fall of Anne Boleyn” by Greg Walker, published in 2002.
I hope some of this helps with the brainstorming. Good luck with your dissertation!
