How could Anne not be missed? She must have left a massive gaping hole in the court- this wonderful, stylish, fascinating woman everyone wondered what she would do next, say next, wear next! He kept it well hidden, as did every one else… the decapitated elephant in the room!
As for the public, after her scaffold speach the public who hated her immediately began grumbling that Henry was ridding himself of her for another woman. I think there was almost an uprising for her… Any way, her popularity soared as the majority of people who heard of her fate understood she was innocent.
Perhaps Henry wanted a quiter life, with a woman who could never outshine him- as Anne did for the majority of their time together. I can think of no other reason he would turn to the Seymour for his next wife!
