I know I've posted about this before, but it's been niggling at me for a while now… The similarity of both Mary Tudor/Brandon and Anne Boleyn is too obvious. I can see Anne in her, the chin and mouth for example are exactly the same, the nose rounded, but Mary also has a hint of Henry about her. If it is Anne, would there be any reason why she would be in a painting with Brandon? Or is the NPG Anne actually Mary? It could explain the 'auburn' hair… Other paintings of Mary have her with very red hair, why is this one different?

We've said before that the “B” could stand for Brandon… When put together the similarities are quite startling Elliemarianna. I remember reading somewhere that there were face types for portraits and that Mary and Anne shared the same.
Portrait of Mary Tudor by an unknown artist in the French school |
This image is quite different to Mary in the picture with Brandon… And I've always preferred the image of Anne with dark hair and a rose in her hand… Which looks quite different from the “B” portrait…

The two portraits do look similar, though I think the Hever one of Anne is even more so. It's always confused me why in the wedding portrait with Charles Brandon Mary has dark hair as she was said to have blonde/auburn hair.
It wouldn't surprise me about the face types for portraits, especially if the artist wasn't that good.
