I don’t know if this is a portrait painted when she was 14, or later, but I think it captures the descriptions of the way she looked, especially her eyes. What do you think?

I agree! From the descripitions we have of her the portrait does match a lot of them. It looks as though she would be younger in this portrait if it is her. You are right, especially in the eyes. They are big and have the darkness to them that they say Anne had. I think this portrait gives her a lot of personality. I really love it and it would be amazing if we could know if this was in fact her. If it is her, her eyes kind of remind me of Elizabeth I’s eyes in some of her portraits.

KayKay, Yes that is exactly what I meant. The description of Anne’s eyes by one of the Ambassadors claimed they were large, dark and beautiful. And then we have the ‘goggle-eyed’ comment, which is a rude way of saying large eyes. I really like this portrait.
I can’t find it now, of course, but there was a side by side of this portrait and Elizabeth as a young girl. Very similar look about them. I bet it drove Henry crazy every time he looked at Elizabeth and saw his wife Anne reflected in his daughter’s eyes. I hope it did, anyway.
This was supposedly painted at or around 1514. So Anne would have been approximately 13 or 14.
Yes, Anyanka it is hard to tell from this angle. Somewhere on FB there is a better shot of it.
It says the painting has Anne Bullen written on it and 1514 as the year. In 1514, Anne was at Margaret’s court, and later that year, the French court. We don’t really know whether she went home before going to France. There would be a very small window in which to have a portrait done considering that she would have been busy preparing for her trip. It is painted on an oak panel.

I’m not sure what portrait you mean, Mayra. Do you mean the one where Elizabeth is 14?

Sorry Mayra, it doesn’t ring any bells. However, I saw this.
She is 53 in this picture which was found at Newcourt, Blanche’s property.

Otherwise, I am stumped.

I don’t know if it is true or not Sharon, but many years ago I read that Elizabeth had a model head made for her, so that she didn’t have to sit for hours on end while the artist flapped about with his charcoal. But I do agree the Newcourt portrait of Elizabeth is not a particulary good portrait, and makes her look very washed out and old. I believe that right up until a few months before her death she was quite spritely and had a beauty that went beyond looks, if that makes sense.

Oh thank you Sharon! Yes is that one, I don’t know why I remembered that she looked like 30, but yes is that one! Thank you for the link I’ve already saved the picture in my phone.
And my point was that if the Anne portrait it’s original, then they have very similar eyes compared to this portrait of Elizabeth. What do you think?
I do feel that Elizabeth had a lot of her mother features, certainly her eyes for sure, and her mother’s body shape too.
Elizabeth’s temprement was a mix between her mother and father, the only way I can explain that is similar to a Molatove c*cktail and a match in short a very dangerous mix. But this dangerous mix served her very well, she was incredible. The men of the court, well in fact the men of the world were firmly sat on by her, and she basically took no C*** from anyone.
