Hi Everyone. I subscribe to the brilliant BBC History magazine and wanted to let you know that at the back of this months edition they mentioned they have a ‘Tudor special’ for next months edition- with a discussion on Anne, it was advertised ‘Anne Boleyn Innocent or Guilty as charged’? It didn’t mention the historians that are taking part in the debate ( though i imagine a certain Professor Bernard will be involved in the ‘guilty’ discussion :p ), though i do remember seeing on Twitter a while back- Suzannah Lipscomb saying she was writing an article on Anne’s downfall- could the wonderfull Dr Lipscomb be fighting Anne’s corner in the debate i wonder? Having read her article on the ‘Anne Boleyn Fellowship’ site, i think she would be an excellent choice . Either way i am excited to see what the article’s are like- and if Suzannah and/or historians are involved, this and the upcoming documentary ‘The last days of Anne Boleyn’, means there is a lot of Anne coming up in the next few months- very exciting .

Thanks for the heads up James – i’ll definitely pick up an issue when it comes out in NZ. The documentary sounds great, any info on when it’s released? There’s also Lacey Baldwin Smiths bio on Anne about to be released and Susan Bordos Anne book due out in a couple of months too.
The next few months are indeed exciting for us Anne fans!

Thanks for posting this James! If you have a Kindle, you can subscribe to the magazine for $2.99 which is half the price of the magazine itself. I believe the magazine costs $6. I think I’m gonna subscribe, because the articles look INTERESTING and it’s a good price for a magazine.
Oh, check this out: http://www.historyextra.com/podcasts
Podcast for BBC History Magazine and it’s free to listen too.
At times I almost dream, I too have spent a life the sages' way,
And tread once more familiar paths. Perchance I perished in an arrogant self-reliance
Ages ago; and in that act, a prayer For one more chance went up so earnest, so
Instinct with better light let in by death, That life was blotted out—not so completely
But scattered wrecks enough of it remain Dim memories as now, when once more seems The goal in sight again. -- Robert Browning, Paracelsus
Unfortunately i’m not sure when the documentary is going to be aired, i will try and find out though. I definitely recommend listening to BBC History’s podcasts- they are very good . Also if you can, do check out ‘Historic Royal Palaces’ podcasts as well- i know they are free for us in UK to download and i’m sure they are also free for people overseas too .

Looks interesting! Thanks James! I need to listen to the podcast about Margaret More. (Her married name was Roper, and she is my 13th great grandmother on my grandpa’s maternal side!! How neat is that! )
I think they have a podcast by Hilary Mantel also. Check it out.

That certainly is neat black_mamba , what an awesome discovery! I can’t help but wonder how Margaret would think about her 13th great grandchild being on a site dedicated to Anne Boleyn :p, haha. The podcasts are fantastic, i would also recommend checking out the Medieval Queen consorts, Body of Queen Anne with Anna Whitelock ( the last Stuart Monarch not Anne Boleyn), and the women in power discussion- all really good and fascinating talks . They update quite regularly so there should be more talks from last year to come hopefully. Also BBC history have a great podcast with a debate called Plantagenet’s VS The Tudors between renowned historians Dan Jones (speaking about the Plantagenet’s) and Suzannah Lipscomb (speaking about The Tudors), it’s a great talk and debate, as our some of the others on their .
