Let me start by saying that I don't actually think Anne Boleyn was a witch.
That being said, I was watching the first Harry Potter movie the other day when I happened to notice a portrait of a girl wearing the French headress Anne made popular. It got me thinking that if Anne was a witch, she would have attended Hogwarts! (Yes, I am aware Hogwarts is not real, it was just a random thought that popped into my head). Imagine my surprise later on in the movie, when Anne Boleyn's portrait can clearly be seen on the wall behind the main trio!
I thought this was amazing prop/set design, and I hope you all find it as interesting and amusing as I did.
Yes, i didn't notice the painting when i first watched the movie but someone pointed it out to me a little while ago. Although i like Harry Potter, i don't like that Anne's portrait is in Hogwarts for that reason. She wasn't a witch and there has never been proof to say different. I'm not trying to say the prop people put her there for that reason but i just thought it was a little disrespectful. Many will agrue it isn't but it's my personal thought.
Thnks for bringing this topic up, it's very interesting.

I don't really see it as disrespectful. I think the set designers were poking fun at the fact that people believed she was a witch. Plus, witches and wizards are clearly idolized in the Harry Potter world, so I see it as almost a compliment to her, showing that she was loved and idolized enough to permanently have her place in the best school of witchcraft. If they had put her picture in the Slytherin common room or wearing Slytherin colours, that would have been slightly offensive as they would have been implying she was a dark witch.

I don't think Anne was a witch but I think she was in some was psychic. Myself I think somewhere deep down she knew how it was all going to end for her, I don't mean exact details or anything I just think (This is my personal view) she saw it as her destiny to change religion, the monarchy etc……basically change the course of history…..as she did.

I agree with you Sophie! I think she was highly intuitive and had a pretty clear picture of her destiny.
"A fresh young damsel, who could trip and go"
I think she knew the possiblities of her future as Queen, but like you said not exact deatils (like death from false accusations). The only possibilites she could of had in her head were: Long life with Henry and children?, Divorce,& Death maybe. Those are actually the only possibilites. : ). Maybe if Henry had given Anne another chance she might of (not saying she would of) given birth to a son. Obviously we'll never know but it could of been entirely possible. I think almost everyone deserves chances and Henry didn't agree then but maybe if he had….well he could of had a great life with Anne. I don't know though.

I think Anne's 'inner voice' was telling her to be aware that Henry was not right for her, but she was not aware enough to act upon it. If that makes any sense? It took Anne quite a long time to say yes to Henry. She obviously had doubts. This holding-out period may have been for reasons other than not wanting to be a mistress. Deep down she may have known being with Henry would end badly. It may have been just a bad feeling that she eventually shook off,and was able then to embrace her destiny.
