Oh man, well definately not Seymour, um for me either Anne Boleyn or Katheryn Howard. Anne because looking at her portraits I think she’s beautiful and I believe was she too no matter what the standards where then. Katheryn Howard because she seemed to be a very sensual girl and obviously had to be some what pretty, it’d be nice to be like that for a day or whatever.

This is actually a very good question to pose. Given the way that we have been brought up in todays modern world we are perhaps a mix of all of Henry’s wives.
Although to be fair I’m an AOC happy with my lot, but at the same time fiercely protective of my freinds and family with a dose of A.B’s wit and humour thrown in.
If you had asked this question without the benefit of modern technology and the robust education that all females now enjoy. I think the answer from all of us, would be my Mother. That was about the best woman could get in Tudor times, although there were exceptions, but basically Mothers were the templates for daughter to copy and copy without mistakes too.

It is an interesting question.
IMO
KOA was a beauty in her younger years who aged badly
Anne was a beauty if of an unusual sort, not run of the mill attractive, she didnt get the chance to age so we cannot know how she would have been later in life
Jane was a purse mouthed, faded beige type of person
AOC was again not a typical beauty but she was not ugly i.e. not in the Jane league of ‘where is the paper bag’
Katherine if her miniature is a representation of her was not attractive to my eyes looking old for her years but not a good way more of well worn woman a tired woman. (To be honest I find it hard to believe that is really her)
Catherine was another one with a pinched mouth and rather chubby face.
Me I dont know, I think I was an AOC who bloomed in time into a faded version of AB who then faded into a full bloom KOA

i dont know whom I would want to look like, but I feel I already look alot like Anne Boleyn was supposed to. I have brown hair and brown eyes (my avatar is actually a real picture of me and my daughter) My partner says i have a ‘glow’ about me, which i have heard before, but i am not sure where that glow comes from. I think Anne must have had a glow too, and she knew how to use it. Which makes us very different lol

Anne for definate because of her determination and balls to say what she feels, more than her looks.
But saying that, when my sister finally gets our ancestor paperwork back, i try and post it somehow on here, but on my mums dad side we are related to MARY QUEEN OF SCOTS. we just found that out a few years back. im personally not sure exactly where down the line but will let you know.

Maggie LOL Paper bag type of person. Love it..
Me I would AOC. Beauty is only skin deep and the person underneath is the one worth knowing..
AOC wasn’t ugly but she had a pleasing appearence.
J.S always reminds me of a bulldog chewing a wasp. But then she must have had something to attract Henry, especially when you think just how striking Anne looked in comparrison to COA and all those about her.
K.H again was attractive, and bubbly, however that didn’t help her when Henry got his chopping board out.
K.P was more enimatic than beautiful, but again Henry must have found her pleasing..
If you think about it Henry didn’t tolerate uglyness in his court, he had to have beauty in it to bolster up his vain self centred ego.
Whatever Henry’s faults and there were many somehow he had a charisma and charm which always seem to attract people like a moth to the flame.

And mistress Boleyn, im sure u dont need a paper bag, just some power in your pocket, apparently power makes anyone sexy, like henry, and like bill clinton, otherwise how would have bill got all the ladies?? lol

I can’t imagine being further from mum.
A modern day Anne, that’s ok. And somehow, I think that she was far from what her mum was too. There was nobody like Anne. She was herself despite what others said or thought. Above all, she didn’t listen to a single man.
Same here.. Me and my Mum are very different to each other, although I’m told I look like my mum with my glasses on.. My daughter Pia certainly does. That’s where the comparrison ends I’m a female version of my dad in everything..
But as I said in my post above yours Juliane, Tudor Girls were expected to be just like their mothers. Which actually makes me wonder about K.H we know her mother died when she was about 6 and yet K.H was flirty, bubbly and vivacious, and although her father married again I don’t see her step-mother being or putting up with any nonsence from her step children, she would expect the girls to mirror her behaviour exactly..
K.H as we know was a flirty, bubbly and vivacious teenager, so (this is just a wild guess) so I kind of get the idea that K.H’s mum Jocasta Culpepper was the same, a fun loving free spirit and that her nature rubbed off on K.H.
I wonder if K.H’s nature was part of the reason why she ended up in her Grandmother’s household? Again we know K.H’s father was away a lot usually to avoid his creditors., but if K.H’s rambuncious behaviour was too much for the servants who were looking after the children and the household whilst their father was in hiding, and they asked Norfolk (Who I detest) to do something about her?. He in turn felt it would be better for her to go to Lambeth where she would be under the strict eye and supervision of her Grandmother where given time Grandmother would get K.H to straighten up, fly right and behave as a Tudor girl was expected to. I don’t think K.H was the only one to go to the Grandmother’s household at that time, as Norfolk seeing that his brother’s house was in such a muddle decided to cut costs etc and sorted out the whole kit and kaboodle, so that when and if he brother did return things would be easier for him to manage.
We don’t know much about K.H’s siblings, but I’m taking yet another wild guess that they were very different behaviour wise to K.H.
Anne B was unique and because of how she was I think she would fit in just fine in our world today. She was a trend setter and a real go getter.
I wonder how she would feel towards all of us. Personally I think she would be blown away by just how many people almost 500 years since her death still love and remember her.

I always imagine Anne to have been attractive in the way of being different. A bit like today when we have all the young girls walking around with their hair so straight it looks well ironed hanging in their eyes, well defined and often almost painted on eyebrows, orangy tinted faces, loads of dark eyeliner etc. Wearing the latest fashion whether it suits or fits even. Basically they all look like cloned plastic dolls – the same.
In the Tudor court I imagine all the ladies looking pretty much the same with their gable hoods and similar dresses, hair scraped back out of sight and all that. Then there was Anne. French hoods and gowns, hair flowing. Even if she did have a ‘snaggle’ tooth it would only have given her features more singularity.
I often see the odd girl walking around who is ‘different’ wavy hair, less make up, pale complexion, quirky teeth/smile or something and she really stands out against all the clones. That is how I think it was with Anne at least initially before they all began to emulate her but I am sure she found ways to alway be one step, at least, ahead of the pack.

Anne certainly wasn’t the excepted norm of what Tudor woman were expected to be. She had a certain flair that really was only found in Elizabeth.
Anne had a polish and style that if anyone else tried to copy they just looked stupid.
Anne certainly made an impact around the court, and again like George would have been missed if she wasn’t around. They both had magnetic personalities, and even after their untimely deaths, after nearly 500 years they still have it.. Anne and George were both remarkable people, and yet Mary, Thomas and Elizabeth didn’t seem to have that spark. We remember them as just being. Thomas. B. the trusted Diplomat and Courtier. Elizabeth. B. Sister of Norfolk and Mary.B,C and S. The sometime lover of Henry 8 who married a commoner and was banished for it.

I would love to look like Anne simply to say that I look like Anne Boleyn!! Although I have received remarks that I resemble her daughter Elizabeth I somewhat, I wish I could claim to have Anne’s looks. 😉 Besides the fact that I admire Anne quite a lot, obviously, I do think she was by far the most striking, sophisticated-looking, and alluring of all of Henry’s wives, and I would prefer to look like her than, for instance, the more classically pretty but dime-a-dozen-for-looks Katherine Howard.
