Just for a bit of fun ……..
If you could travel back in time to Henrys court, what present would you give him for Christmas?
Also, if Henry was still alive today, what gift would you give him?

I have no idea what I would give Henry as a Christmas present in his time. What did one give royalty at that time? Since Tennessee's primary legal cash crop is tobacco, I'd probably go with that. Of course, that would change history a little bit, but it also might give Henry lung cancer and cause him to die earlier 😀
If he were to come to 2010, I'd probably hook him up with an iPod. I don't know. There have been such huge changes in in technology since Henry's time you could almost give him anything. He would probably have a unique appreciation for the guillotine. Ok…that was in poor taste.

What do you get the man who has everything? I have no idea what I would have given Henry had I been at his court. I know what I would like to have given him; a stocking filled with coal. A gift every kid around here is threatened with when they have been bad. Today, I'd give him a computer and ask him to tell us his story in his own words, a book on how to treat wives and other women, and a stocking filled with coal. Maybe I should stay away from Henry's court at Christmas.

Yes, Sharon, today I would give him a book on women's rights! But back then…well, in true honesty, something nice and meek. But what would I want to have given him? That's another matter. Poison? 🙂 No, something that would show him how horrible he was–not sure what. And yes, again Sharon, coal would be very nice.

A photo album of him and Anne's happy days to remind him just how much of a good time they had….he might reconsider executing her then
Ohhhh i like this idea wreakmasterjay !!!!
i think i would give Henry either an i-pod because of his love of music or maybe a lap top, so he could write his own autobiography.
As for something to give him back then …. like Sharon said, what do you get a man who has everything?

What to give to a person that has or could have anything he wanted is a hard question. I believe I would present himi with a copy of The Constitution of the United States for his reading pleasure in hopes that he may apply it to his way of running England and his court. If I was to meet Henry today I would give him the name of my shrink and tell him that the first visit would be free!!

He he! That would be hilarious! But for someone who broke both his own coronation oath and Magna Carta I dare say it would only be brought out when it served his purposes.

If I were to give him a gift from the 21st Century it would be an electric guitar with amplifier plus downloads of Queen's greatest hits – to show what can be done – along with those of Metallica, Black Sabbath, Led Zep and Guns n Roses. (I've got a CD with some of the music Henry composed on it – as the man could pretty much do heavy metal with a lute and spinnet he deserves to see how things developed.)
PS I have albums from all of the above

I would probably give him a lifetime supply of Viagra and a subscription to Playboy magazine. He may not have had any more sons but at least he would have died with a smile on his face. The only problem may have been in nailing the coffin lid down on the git!
Hahaha! I'd feel sorry for the fellow who would have to catch the 'royal seed'! Can't go spilling it! (So gross)…
