According to The Daily Telegraph, the bones found in Leicester car park are Richard III’s. The information, according to the article, is being withheld pending a documentary about the dig. This, if true, is exciting news. I’ve posted the link below. I hope it works.

I agree, Boleyn. I hope he is bestowed the proper burial he deserves, regardless of how his life ended, he was once King. It is such an exciting discovery, which I was sure would never happen. I am also eager to see the documentary mentioned in the article, although it was probably not air in Canada.

It has been awhile since I’ve been on the forum. I popped by a few times, but I’ve been busy with some family things, and getting ready for Christmas.
I hope the documentary is avaliable on You Tube. It will be interesting to see the dig and investigation. The history dork in me is screaming!!!

If they’re bothering with a facial reconstruction does that mean the remains are definitely Richards? Hope so! I want to see what he looked like too – wonder if he’ll look anything remotely like his portraits?
The facial reconstruction could tell us a lot. We have portraits of the old boy of course but they were probably jazzed up a little by the artists to give the appearence of being more handsome than they actually were. Richard always struck me of being quite rugged, and from what portraits we do have of him I feel that he wasn’t quite as handsome as they portray.
Poor old Richard I feel that if his lords hadn’t of betrayed him at Bosworth he could have actually won against Henry Tulip.. I mean Tudor.
Would have been a very interesting reign me thinks if he had won. Would he have married Elizabeth of york? I rather think he may have married either a French Princess or even a Spanish princess, now there’s a thought.
