I am James form England. Information about me can be found on my profile. If you have any other questions, do ask! However, the answers may have to wait if the questions come later than this evening because I'm off on holiday tomorrow morning. I felt like I should join now though, lest I forget about this site while I am away!
so yes, good evening everyone 🙂
(loving the “maths required” btw!)

Claire, I think I was probably…having a lot of fun when you wrote that. I went to the Faroe islands for their national holiday. It was so fun and so so beautiful, it's not a question of 'if' I return, it is 'when' I return!
Anyway, for those who know England, I live near Slough. I cannot say why I like this period in history (I tend to find most history interesting just because I like history) but, of course, I used to learn about it in school. I always knew the rough story of Anne, but it was actually watching the Tudors (should I brace myself? :P) and seeing the story acted out rather than just told in cold facts which first spawned this obsession with Anne's story! In fact, I am planning a trip to the Tower of London at some point because of this!

Don't worry, you can mention The Tudors here without being beheaded!! We even allow the mention of Philippa Gregory!!
I for one love The Tudors, I think it did an absolutely fantastic job of bringing the people and the times to life and piquing people's interest in Tudor history.
The Tower of London is a great place to visit. If you take an old Tower plan with you, you can figure out where the original royal palace was (between the Wardrobe Tower and Lanthorn Tower) which is where Anne Boleyn stayed before her coronation and also when she was imprisoned. Also, if you stand on the gravelled parade ground between the White Tower and the Waterloo Barracks, that is where Anne's scaffold was and not where the glass monument is. Do make sure you visit the Chapel too.

Thanks for the advice! I will definately visit the chapel; it was the first place on my list! I'm planning to go in September when my friend is back from China and when the kids are back to school. Less chance of being dogged by bored British families then haha
