Helllo, Everyone!
About me? Well, I am a happily married stay at home Mum of one teen aged son and a lovely Golden Retriever who happens to be an almost lifelong Tudor Addict.
Began with the 1970s BBC series The Six Wives of Henry VIII and Elizabeth R. A trip to EnglandScotland/Wales later that year and viewings of Henry VIII and His Six Wives and Mary, Queen of Scots while in London sealed the deal. I still have the program from the movie Henry VIII and His Six Wives. Keith Michell was Henry, Charlotte Rampling played a lovely Anne (though her eyes were the wrong colour), Frances Cuka was Catherine of Aragon. It is out on DVD now and worth a look. My favorite all time series are the aforemention BBC Six Wives series from the '70s. Keith Michell will always be Henry to me. I also LOVE Elizabeth R with Glenda Jackson as Elizabeth.
I have a huge library of Tudor Non-Fiction and fiction. Always looking for the latest book on our beloved Tudors.
All best,
Mary Louisa

Hi Mary Louisa,
Welcome to the AB Files! I know what you mean about your golden retriever, my black labrador, terrier cross and 2 cats are Tudor addicts too, plus I have completely indoctrinated my children!
You've made me want to watch that series again, I haven't watched it in years, but I have just got my Tudor fix from watching the first two episodes of the David Starkey series on the Six Wives.
Anyway, welcome to the forum and the site

Bella and Claire,
Thank you for your warm welcomes! 🙂
Bella- I LOVED Geneive Bujold as Anne! IMHO, out of all the actresses she, Dorothy Tutin and Charlotte Rampling have captured the true essence of Anne. Natalie Dormer did quite a respecatable portrayal as well. Her eyes were the wrong shade once again (okay- if we are starting on historical accuracy how come in recent productions Catherine of Aragon is portrayed with dark brown hair and eyes? She was a strawberry-blond/auburn haired grey-blue eyed petite woman!- Give me Annette Crosbie and Frances Cuka!) but she certainly captured Anne's spirit.
LOL! Claire- I have totally indoctrinated my family, as well! Alex, our Golden, has learnt to sit quietly for pets while Mum reads one of her Tudor books or he will climb up on the couch next to me.
I haven't viewed Starkey's Six Wives. Not a real great fan of his even though I do respect his scholarship. My latest Tudor fix was THE FALL OF ANNE BOLEYN by Alison Weir. I purchased it at the bookstore on a Friday evening and had it finished by Saturday morning at breakfast.
All best,
Mary Louisa

Hi Sabrina,
Nice to meet you as well! What part of California are you from? I have relatives that live in San Francisco and Lorma Linda/Riverside.
I also spent part of my childhood growing up in Berkeley. I miss it terribly.
I hope you are safe from the mudslides and the brush fires.
All best,
Mary Louisa
