Hello All!
My name is Rioghnach O’Geraghty and I’m writing to you from the Barossa Valley in South Australia.
I suppose I’m a little different from the majority of people here as my educational and working bio couldn’t be any more removed from my love of medieval and Tudor society and culture. Truth be told, its very much my escape as I often feel that I’ve been born in the wrong century. When I’m not hiding in the kitchens at Hampton Court or conducting trade in spices, I’m pursuing my Masters degree in Policing, Intelligence and Counter-terrorism (see what I mean about being at opposite ends of the spectrum … 🙂 ).
My primary interest lies in the roles that spices played in medieval and Tudor society and culture. So much so that I now run a nano-sized business introducing authenticated and documented spice blends (from primary resources like Form of Cury) to the modern palate. If anyone is interested, please do take a look at Spice Alchemy on FaceBook.
I’m looking forward to learning a great deal about all things Tudor.
