Hello, everyone! As is obvious, I'm new, and I’m a huge Tudor history and Anne Boleyn fan. =) I’ve been visiting the Anne Boleyn Files for quite a long time, and I thought it was about time I actually joined the forum! I’ve loved studying the Tudors since I was a child, and can’t wait to join in the discussions here. Anne Boleyn is my favourite historical figure, without contest – I adore her. One of the things I love about her is how enormously human she was. I also admire her beyond words for her bravery at her execution; I can’t imagine being so brave facing death. In short, I could go on about her forever! =D
I’m from England so I’m lucky enough to be able to visit Hever Castle – I’ve been there several times, and this year I went there on my birthday. As I’m sure everyone here knows, it’s an absolutely magical place, so atmospheric; I wish I could live there! One of my favourite places there is the courtyard. I love sitting there quietly and looking up at the windows, imagining Anne looking out of one of them like Genevieve Bujold in “Anne of the thousand days”.
As well as studying Anne, being a writer, I like to write short stories about her, although as anyone else who’s tried will know, trying to paint a realistic picture of her in fiction is often quite difficult! But I’m determined to do so one day, to show people that the real Anne was nothing like Philippa Gregory’s portrayal of her.
This has been quite a lengthy introduction, so, I’ll finish up now! I’m very glad to be here and am looking forward to posting around the forum, after so much time spent just lurking!

As a visitor to the AB files you'll know what we get up to on here! This is a friendly and well informed site, where we all enjoy discussing AB, Tudor history, or just about anything else to do with aspects of history. Enjoy your time here and I look forward to reading your posts in the near future. Also, good luck with your writing in the future (you will have to post one of your short stories, I'm sure everyone here will be keen to read it) and I'm pleased you've stopped “lurking” and decided to join us, I know you'll have a great time.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy the forum. You are lucky to live close to Hever. I visited the castle a few years ago, and it really is a magical place. I look forward to reading your posts. Best of luck with your writing, and I agre with Neil, I would love to read some of your short stories.

Hi H of H! Hope you have fun on the site and please publish some of your stories! Out with that phillipa gregory- she's awful! I visited Hever last september- It was heaven. I loved the courtyard to- I could imagine Anne as a child running up the spiral staircase of the old hall with her siblings. Sigh. Wish I could be there all the time!

Hi and welcome, Heroine of Hever (love the name)! I wish I lived near Hever–it's amazing, isn't it?! I spent 45 minutes sitting in Anne's bedroom, sketching and describing every minute detail on every floorboard, the last time I was there. And the gardens are so lovely! (sigh) Have you published anything, either related to Anne or not? And if you haven't published anything about Anne, yes, definitely post a short story about her!! Have fun on the forum 🙂

Hever Castle is just the most magical place, I've been twice and it literally brings me to tears with emotion.
I'm looking forward to reading your short stories, I'm in the middle of writing a novel but I feel I could never write about Anne as I'm not skilled enough and could never do her the justice she deserves.
I posted a topic about Anne having the X-Factor as I think Anne was one on her own a truly special person who deserves the love and respect we have for her on the forum.

Thank you so much for all of your kind welcomes, everyone! =D I'm sorry I've taken so long to reply. =) I really love this forum, it's great to be in an environment where everyone loves Anne! <3 I'm v.grateful for the encouragement to post some of my short stories as well – in fact, I might just post one sometime or another! Though I can be a bit of a perfectionist – when it comes to writing about Anne I want to get her absolutely right and make her realistic, which can be difficult sometimes. (I'm not a professional writer, though it's my dream to one day write a book about her =) It's my lifelong goal to become an author!) Anyhoo, long story short! I'm glad to be here!
