Hi my name is Olga and I am new. I've actually posted on another thread here before I noticed the introduction board (and I think WilesWales wants to pummel me ) The forum is immense. A wonderful website Claire!
I'm from Australia. I sell books and am an avid collector. I'm very new to reading Tudor History, having only just started collecting books on the period a couple of months ago. I have read a few of Starkey's books being a big fan of Elizabeth I. I am in no way any sort of historical expert, I used to mainly read kids books and fantasy books before I got more interested in non-fiction. I just read the Norah Lofts Anne Boleyn (which made me want to scream) and I have just started on Warnicke's book, which my partner keeps scowling darkly at as I'm reading it (I've filled him in on her theories) Next I'm hoping to get a copy of the Ive's bio. History books tend to be really expensive here so I have to try and buy them second-hand.
I'm hoping you will all recommend some books for me and help me along in my new hobby.

Welcome Olga! I had no intention of making you think that I wanted to “pummel” you. I didn't know this forum was here until I looked at other categories. I also had no idea that you sell books, and am a little envious, because that was and is something that I've always longed to do.
Thank you also, Impish_Impulse, for sticking up for me. It's just that anything having to do with she-who-must-not-be-named is disdainful to me. Olga has taught me to read and look before I post, and I MUST remember that any writer, especially one who sells as well as don't-let-me-name-her, does and in fact bring people to interest in Anne Boleyn, Tudor history is not all bad.
I want to WELCOME Olga! What asset! Thank you very much.

I was a librarian at one point before becoming a corporate executive in charge of the licensing and accreditation for 21 colleges and universities in 18 different states. I love being a librarian, and we are mostly very poor as well, and I didn't want to leave the profession (although evaluating libraries for compliance purposes gave me an edge, and still let me be part of them). So I know about what you are speaking. I dream about being a bookseller anyway. I don't know why, but it is a different way of satisfying customers, and I don't know how you pick your collections, but I'm sure it is far different that that of libraries.
I joined this discussion group by accident, and love it! It was introduced to me by a former member of Tudor Wiki, of which I voluntarliy left. I had sworn I would never join another one again. But Claire and all the others on here have made it most enjoyable.
So, once again, welcome!
