I live about 20 miles (30 KM or thereabouts) south of Seattle.
I've been a longtime enthusiast of Tudor history – it all started with my interest in Elizabeth I. Then I researched her parents. Anne especially drew me in, and I have been hooked on both Queens ever since.
There is not much to tell about me. I'm 44, use a wheelchair, live with my little brother, who is a computer technician. I love reading – non fiction, guess who my favorite subject is? – but fiction I prefer is mostly science fiction, fantasy and mythology. I would also like to be writing science fiction, fantasy and mythology eventually. I even have a few characters that seem to be loosely based upon Anne – the intelligence, the mystery, the allure, and the feisty independence.
I collect all sorts of things, my favorite thing to collect at the moment is dolls. I am planning an eventual display of Henry VIII and his wives. I have not figured out which one will be Catherine Parr yet. Sometime or another, I will post a picture of the doll I will use for Anne. Her current “flaw” is that she has blue eyes, rather than Anne's sultry black, but that will be taken care of sometime soon.

Hi Jay, and thank you for the welcome! I have seen those dolls, and they are an eventuality. At the moment, however, I have some 16 inch fashion dolls by Robert Tonner, in hand, which will eventually be used for the wives. Sadly, I am not much of a photographer, but this is the doll I am going to be using for Anne.

Sadly, I have to use a link to my PhotoBucket album, since I need to study this forum's software a bit and figure out how to post images correctly. At the moment, Anne is the only doll of the planned display I have photographed and up on PhotoBucket.
Hi miladyblue,
Welcome to the forum and thank you for the comments on posts too. I'm so glad that you found us.
To add an image to a post you click on the green tree image icon on the bar above where you post – it's near the middle of the bar. I will take a look at your photobucket album though. Natalie Dormer has blue eyes so perhaps your doll could be Natalie Dormer playing Anne!
What fantasty and mythology fiction do you like?

Hello Jary Claire, Sharon and Hannah!
Thank you for the welcome, folks. I don't know any Tudorphiles in real life – many of my friends have this tendency to have glazed eyes if I go off on a ramble, so I am kind of bereft. Thank goodness for the internet!
Claire, the green tree icon asks me to enter the image URL, description, image size, and things about border and spacing – I don't have much of a clue about that at the moment, but I will study it and see what I can see.
Fantasy fiction I like to read is Janny Wurts mostly, but I got started out with Brian Daley, Anne McCaffrey and Piers Anthony. As for mythology, I am hopelessly in love with Greek mythology. I would like to find some better sources for Celtic mythology because, well, that's where close to half of my own heritage lies.
As for this site, oh, man, I am having a ball reading all of the articles, especially since Claire seems to be a “history bloodhound” – not that I am trying to call you a dog Claire, but you have a keen sense for finding the truth out of a lot of nonsense that has been written about Anne and other Tudor era figures. The “witch legend” cracks me up the most – Yeah, Henry, who was a connoisseur of beautiful women would go for a six fingered, crooked toothed, deformed, ugly woman.
Ooooh, I like that, “Claire the history bloodhound”!! he he! I do try and get to the truth and chuck out the nonsense on the way.
I've just tried out that green tree icon – if you press it and then press the icon to the right hand of “Image URL” you can then browse to the image on your computer by going to “upload” on the bit that then pops up, then “browse” to find the image on your computer. Then the image directory is there for you to highlight and upload, so that it is in the forum for you to then browse to and put in your post. Let me know if you have any problems doing it.
I love Greek mythology too!

Hi Rosalyn, no, the Robert Tonner dolls are a different company from Mattel. I have not seen the Anne Boleyn Barbie, I will have to go look that up! They did a gorgeous Elizabeth I doll a few years back, however.
Claire, I don't know what I am doing wrong, neither image button is doing what it says. The tree icon is asking for Image URL and dimensions and the like, while the little green film button is about embedded media. Unfortunately, I seem to be “computer incompatible” so my apologies.
Here is a closeup of the face of the doll I am using for Anne Boleyn. Her only “flaw” is her blue eyes, but that is easy enough to have a skilled artist correct. I did not take this picture, it is one I found on eBay:

This is a picture I took myself, showing the difference in scale between another Sydney doll I own, and a Barbie.
Hi miladyblue,
You just ignore the URL and dimensions and click on the little picture of a file and magnifying glass next to the box called Image URL, but don't worry, I'll add those pics in. Having a website designer as a husband has rubbed off on me!!

What a beautiful face the doll has!

Wow, thanks, Claire! I'm afraid I am a bit of an idiot with computers; the darned things don't seem to like me.
Anyway, glad you like my choice of doll for Anne. Sydney is one of Tonner's most popular, and I just love how sultry she is. I got a bee in my bonnet one day, while looking over my collection, after reading a book about the Tudors, thinking that it would be cool to eventually have a display of all 6 wives. Sydney REALLY came across as Anne, because of her sultry look – the most famous description of her states that she is “not the handsomest woman in the world,” but there was a fiery, magnetic allure to her that captivated those around her, particularly the guys. Henry didn't stand a chance.
The ones that stump me include Kathryn Howard and Catherine Parr. Ms. Howard especially, since there are no properly authenticated portraits of her. I'll just take my best guess with her.

I have a friend in Australia who is quite a seamstress, who wants to take on the dresses, and I am trying to figure out ways the jewelry could be done. Anne's B necklace is giving me the biggest fits, trying to find that beautiful B in such a small size. The pearls would be easy, Swarovski glass pearls.
