Hi everyone. I am loving this forum – have been into history for a very long time and have always loved Anne Boleyn. It is wonderful to have found this forum. I am a happily married mum of four (nearly five) children one daughter who is 22 and has made me a Grandma who is about to get married and three gorgeous little boys with my current husband who is the Love of My Life and we are having another baby in five months – who will be younger than my grandson! This baby was a complete surprise and yet very welcome. Am hoping for a girl for a bit of balance although I love my boys they are a handful! I have enjoyed watching this soap opera style Tudors and learnt very early on to remind myself it is not portraying itself as a historically accurate series. I have a massive book collection of the Tudors and other Royalty but my fave royal always has been Anne Boleyn.

joeyramone,
Welcome to the site. Wow, Australia. I've never been there. What's it like? A friend of mine moved to Sydney a couple of years ago, but has since returned to Canada. Congratulations on a new baby on the way! All those boys must keep you busy!

Hello everyone,
I'm from Sydney Australia. Ive been fasicinated by history since i was a little girl. I love travelling and reading and also have a large library that i enjoy adding too. I'm married to a real Aussie bloke who has no clue about royals and therefore doesn't get my rambling talks on Anne and co (i think its more a case of selective hearing).
I'm very glad to have found a place where i can talk about my passions with liked minded people.
I'm crazy about all things royal and of course The Tudors are my favourite.
I love Anne and Elizabeth the most as they were strong, determined women who were forward thinking for their time.
I'm also planning to attend the Anne Boleyn experience for 2011. I'm so looking forward to this !!!

It is a pretty great place to live – though the one thing we don't have is the fascinating and rich history of other countries like America and Great Britain. I lived in Sydney and Melbourne for a long time and now live in Canberra which is the Capital Territory though it is quite small. Very easy way of life and relaxed.
Welcome to the Anne Boleyn Files, I'm so glad that you found us. Congratulations on your pregnancy, I hope you're doing ok. What's your favourite Tudor book?
Thank you for the welcome and congratulations. My fave book at the moment is Eric Ives The Life and Death of Anne Boleyn and I have just finished a wonderful book called Elizabeths Women cannot remember the author. I am quite fond of Jean Plaidy and loved her book on Henrys sister Mary and her marriage to Louis and Charles Brandon.
Hi….wow it must be good living in Oz! What historical stuff is there then? I'm not too clued up on Australia so forgive me if I miss the obvious!
Sadly Austrailain history is quite dull – apart from convicts and the colonisation not to mention the Stolen Generation with the Aboriginals who were here first and historically treated terribly.

Yes ,The Bounty and so much more. Captain Bligh was appointed Governor Bligh of New South Wales , Australia in 1805. He arrived in Sydney in 1806. Served as the 4th Governor. Sent there to clean up the rum trade of New South Wales Corp run by George Johnston, (another interesting guy) which resulted in the Rum Rebellion..Rebels set up a gov't of their own and Bligh was imprisoned on The Porpoise from 1808-Jan 1810.
Never a dull moment in Australian history.

If you like shipwrecks then you would love it here. Lots of great diving spots and we have gorgeous landscapes and amazing places like the Great Barrier Reef and Ayers Rock etc. Im climbing the Sydney Harbour Bridge in two weeks for the very first time and i cant wait.
We do have a wonderful history here. Besides the indingenous history our country is fairly new so I think thats why we are fascinated by European/US/Ancient history as it is so far removed for what we know and so far away too.
