Hello Anne Boleyn Fans from the east coast of Canada. I am not sure how many people here know where Prince Edward Island is, but that's the province where I've been born and raised. P.E.I is most famous for all things “Anne of Green Gables” by Lucy Maud Montgomery.
I am currently a grad student finishing my Master of Arts degree in social anthropology. I shall be glad when it's all over. Although, a PhD is in my future. I am a brute for punishment.
I've been visiting the Anne Boleyn files for awhile, but I finally decided to join in on the conversations.
Take care and keep up the great discussions on Anne!

Welcome to the forum!
Wow! Prince Edward Island! My father's ancestors came from there. The Haché-Gallants were the first French family to settle l'Ile St-Jean (as PEI was then known) in the early 18th century. My ancestors left PEI for Quebec in the mid-1800s, then Massachusetts in 1909: I am from California. Are you also of Acadian descent and do you still live in PEI?
Thank you very much!
Yours as long as lyffe endures, Katheryn

I do still live on P.E.I. There are still Haché-Gallants on the Island. It's a small world for both of us to be on this forum, and have P.E.I connections. The island is a great place. I am not of Acadian descent, but there are plenty of Acadians who still live here. My French ancestors are from Brittany and Normandy, but they migrated to England after the 1066 conquest. My family came to P.E.I in the lte 1700's. What is life like in Calfifornia? I've never been, maybe someday. Take care and hope to communicate again.

Hi Wreckmasterjay,
No, there is not really any good parts to Canadian history, not like in England! My favourite part of Canadian history is the Immigration period of the 1770's to the 1840's, mainly because I research my geneology, and these are the dates my ancestors left England, Scotland, and Ireland, and settled on P.E.I. I much prefer English history, though.

Thanks Sharon, Claire and HannahL,
I've been a fan of Anne since I was a child, and I am so excited to have a forum where Anne can be disgussed intelligently.
P.E.I is a great place to live, in the summer anway. The winters, not so much.
I look forward to more discussions about Anne, and getting to know all you Anne fans better.
Take care for now!
