Hi Kelly

I have been to the Netherlands several times, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Den Helder and I love it each time I go! My favourite story is the Diary of Anne Frank, a very moving museum to her in her old house in Amsterdam is well worth going to, I have been there twice!

Hope you enjoy this forum as much as us!

Thnks a lot,

I lived for a great part of my life in Rotterdam. Amsterdam is a beautifull city, next time you should visit Delft, it is full of history, the tomb (wich is wonderfull)  of Wiliam the Silent is there en his house were he is shot, The Prinsenhof it is called, it brings you back in time.

Yes the story of Anne Frank is famous, and so sad.

I am liking the forum allready, so that will not be a problem! thnks…

This is very, very late, but welcome, Kelly! So sorry for not saying hi sooner. I actually just got back from Egypt–it's fascinating isn't it? I was especially entranced with Luxor's tombs and of course the Pyramids of Giza. Anyway, welcome and I look forward to seeing your posts!

Got back just in time by the looks of things.

It's always bunnies.

Yes, it's so sad to watch the violence and also the damage to museums. I was very heartened to hear that citizens formed a human shield around the Cairo museum holding many ancient artifacts, including many related to Tutankhamun, and were able to limit damage from looters until the army got there.

Yes, I agree–I know this has gotten a bit off topic but I'm going to continue the conversation 🙂 I got back about a month before everything started, and I am so saddened by what I have heard about Cairo, having just been there. Every day I have thought–are the wonderful tour guides I had okay? Are they safe? It's so heartbreaking…but yes, Egypt is a lovely place, very poor but extremely rich in history. The Valley of the Kings was incredible, especially King Tut's tomb.
