Hi Lexy,
Welcome to the forum and thanks for all the comments you've left on posts, it's great to \”meet\” you. Where abouts in France are you from? I used to go on holiday to France every year because my Dad was a French teacher and felt really at home there – wonderful country.
Bless Amazon, it's a wonderful company!

Oh I'm so happy to talk about my passion for Anne Boleyn, since she's not really known in France! I'm from Lyon, a really nice city in South-East of France, with a lot of history and culture. This days I'm a teacher trainee in Valence, a more southern city, nice but I long for the day I'll come back in Lyon! And yesterday evening I discovered that a lot of the books which are talked about on rance, or it takes a long time to have it. Too bad!!!
We used to holiday in various parts of France – Brittany, the Bordeaux area and also in the Alps in Tignes which I really loved. I've also been to Port Grimaud in the south which was very pretty. I don't think I've ever been to Lyon and I don't know Valence. I love history and culture.

Thanks a lot, Gina! It's highly disappointinting, but Anne Boleyn is not very kown in this country, even if it was the country were she really felt at home. Elizabeth is not very loved since most of the historians and writers are in Team Mary Stuart, the one year queen of France. or exemple, I've found an old biography of her in a market this summer, and the historian talkedd about Anne's sixth finger, saying that there was \” a little witch in her\”. Most people don't know her, and her name is often spelled Anne de Boulan. If everybody's interested, I'll translate an axtract from a seventeenth century novel, \”La Princesse de Clèves\” ( nothing to do with Anne of Cleve), where Anne's story is told.
Claire, if you love history and culture, you'll fell in love with Lyon. It's a town full of historical places to visit, the centre of printers and ideas in the sixteenth century. Rabelais worked here, and it was the hometown of the poet Louise Labbé. If you have the occasion to visit that town, I'll be happy to talk of it about you. Oh, and I love Brittany so much, since it's the land of fairy world and old myths!

Hi everyone! I'm so glad I stumbled on this site. I'm currently doing a research paper on the separation between the Catholic Church and the Church of England-we all know the story so well, which is why I chose the topic-I love this era! I'm also a big fan of Philippa Gregory novels-just recently finished The White Queen, I highly recommend it. Although The Other Boleyn Girl is sitll my favorite.
Hi Belle,
Wow, that sounds like some research paper! Good luck with it and I'm sure you'll do brilliantly with it. I too enjoyed The White Queen and I also enjoyed The Other Queen but thought her Wideacre series were her best books. I can't say i liked The Other Boleyn Girl as much because I thought she was so harsh on Anne – perhaps I'm too protective of our Anne!
Anyway, welcome to the forum and the site and I too am glad that you found us, we're all a friendly bunch here.
