Hi
I am a new member, just signed up, although I have made some guest comments in the past. I have been fascinated by the Tudor period since childhood, and I am now 60. I think the first book I ever read about Anne was The Concubine, although it may have been a Jean Plaidy (I was a great reader of both Jean Plaidy and Norah Lofts in my youth), and then graduated to non-fiction. I am a professional historian but my period is the Victorians, not the Tudors! I have much enjoyed Wolf Hall and Bring up the Bodies, and can’t wait for the third part. I enjoyed Wolf Hall on TV too. I admit I enjoyed the Tudors, having resisted watching it for ages because I knew there were many historical inaccuracies in the programme and thought it would drive me mad, but in fact I found it great fun. I am interested in Henry’s older sister Margaret (much neglected by historians, film makers and novelists) and her three marriages, also her daughter Lady Margaret Douglas, another character we seldom hear of in drama.
