Hello everyone!
My name is Mark, I’m from Mexico, I’m 24 years old and I’m a huge Tudor geek
I’ve been researching Anne Boleyn and the Tudors for over 5 years, I know a lot of stuff but since this period is over 100 years, there’s still a lot to learn. Can’t wait for more knowledge.
I love the Tudor period so much that I even started a YOUTUBE channel called “Mark Boleyn” were I upload the Queen’s stories from the Showtime series “The Tudors”, some mini biographies and Q&A videos as well- My native language is not english so my videos are not that great but I think the informartion is mostly accurate. The channel has been a huge success, with over 1,500 subscribers already and new ones coming daily. they comment on the Tudor period and the wives of Henry VIII, if anyone is interested, please don’t hesitate to visit my channel.
So how did I first knew about the Tudors? well most of you (if not all of you) will hate for this, but it’s the truth, I first came across Anne Boleyn because of the movie “The Other Boleyn Girl”. I’m a huge fan of Natalie Portman (I’ve seen all her movies) and when this movie came out I knew I had to see it. Natalie’s character was very impresive that I fell in love with it and since I’m a very obssesive person, when I like something I find everything there is to know about it, so naturally I came across Philippa Gregory’s novel. The story was completely different but still very enjoyable (for me at least). later on I visit a lot of Internet sites about Anne and read about the REAL STORY about Anne Boleyn, I realize it was totally different from the book and movie, but also I realize that it was better.
I’m a huge book reader so when it comes to Anne Boleyn I need to have everything. I started with the basics, I got Alison Weir’s the Lady in the Tower (it was just published at the time) I got David Starkey’s wonderfull book “Six Wives” and a novel (to change the style) called “the Secret diary of Anne Boleyn” by Robin Maxwell. from then on it’s been over 5 years and my Tudor library has increase considerably, now owning Eric Ive’s masterfull book “the life and death of Anne Boleyn” (my Anne Boleyn Bible), Susan Bordo’s new book “The creation of Anne Boleyn” and a lot of books about the six wives of Henry VIII and the Tudor period.
Now I expanded my research to the Plantagenets, reading a lot about the Wars of the Roses. but there’s still much information out there.
WOW I wrote a lot, so thank you again (if you finish reading this letter) and I hope you guys can let me be a part of the Anne Boleyn files

Hi and welcome Mark! Ive’s book on Anne Boleyn is great! In case you didn’t know, Claire Ridgway, our hostess with the mostess has written three books about Anne. “The Anne Boleyn Collection: The Real Truth About the Tudors,” “The Fall of Anne Boleyn: A Countdown,” and her latest, “The Anne Boleyn Collection II: Anne Boleyn and the Boleyn Family.” She has also written, “On This Day in Tudor History.” All of them are worthy reads.
I hope you enjoy the forum and please do join the discussions.
