Hi
Just thought I'd introduce myself. I'm Louise, a huge Anne fan since I was about 8, and I too want to write a novel set in the Tudor period. Right now, I'm writing one set in Ireland, which is another of my passions. (I blame that on breeding!)
I wish I'd found you guys a couple of days ago – before I signed up to Associated Content and posted this: http://www.associatedcontent.c…..tml?cat=37. The story behind my theory that Anne and Henry were behind the creation of the welfare state is that I studied law as a mature student. In my final semester (early 2006) I studied the foundation of the welfare state. The legal history team talked about 1601 but I left the law library and wandered into the sociology library and discovered the previous acts, including the 1536 Act. A couple of years later, reading Eric Ives' second biography of Anne, I came across William Marshall's 1535 letter to her. I then put two and two together, am worried that I've made five instead of four but decided to write a few words and post them. Sadly, I'm not a historian, I don't read the original sources (many are in Latin which I just don't understand) but I'm hoping a serious historian picks up on my theory and runs with it. As I don't live in the US I won't make any money from it – but at least it's out there.
And now I'm off to post in the topic which asks where the fascination with Anne began!
Louise

Hi Louise,
Welcome to the club – Must look up your post – sounds fascinating. I am of the opinion that although certain things change over the years, others either remin the same or modern ideas have roots in the past. I am sure that others will join me in saying that you will offer great insights and ideas that will inspire us all –
Jenny xx

Hey everyone 🙂
I would like to introduce myself. My name is Sarah and I am from New Zealand. I was born on 9th of Dec 1985 five weeks and one month early.
I am born with Noonan's Syndrome and a heart condition, fully deaf. I had plastic surgery as a baby of months old to correct my lip because I was born with a clef lip and palate.
I am a honest and nice person. I can use my imagination because of my creative writing. I am not good at lip-reading. But I can communicate with people by sign lanuage, pen and pad, texting on my mobile, email and instant messaging, letter-writing, hand gestures. I can watch my TV subititles because subtitles help me understand better what they are saying.
I like basketball, writing and reading, surfing the Net and chatting to friends online. I love going to the beach house with my family.
I am addicted to History e.g. The Tudors and Anne Boleyn, Henry VIII & his six wives and Elizabeth I, Joan of Arc and Marie Antoinette, Kings and Queens of England including any historcial figure/event that impresses me.
But most I love Anne Boleyn best because her story about her life and death had made a fanastic impression on me. I had done a English essay on her at High school when I was in Year 13.
I never had been to England yet but I would love to go there one day and explore the famous buildings e.g. The Tower of London!
My name is Sarah. I am deaf :)
Welcome to The Anne Boleyn Files, Sarah! It's great to have you here! I've never been to New Zealand but I really want to one day – I used to watch “Shortland Street” and dream!
I've never heard of Noonan's Syndrome but it sounds like you had a bit of a rough time as a baby.
We're all addicted to Tudor history here, well completely obsessed more like (well, me anyway!) so you're in good company. Isn't it funny how Anne Boleyn's story affects so many people! We learn about so many historical figures at school and in later life, yet it's Anne's story that grabs us.
London is a wonderful city – so much history and so many museums and galleries. I'm so excited about visiting the Tower of London on the 19th May and paying my respects to Anne, I think it will be very emotional.
Anyway, it's wonderful to “meet” you
