I just wanted to write a post saying how much i really enjoy Claire’s book reviews – honestly it’s pretty much the one site i’ll come to when it comes to reviewing books- i really like the way in which you break them down chapter by chapter and analyse each part, rather then how you get some articles in newspapers going on & mostly sometimes it feels like there going off the plot of the review ( & sometimes promoting there own work :p)
What i really like is the books are not just biographies & fiction work of the Tudor period, they can also be from the Medieval or Victorian period & some of them you wouldn’t probably have heard of them if it wasn’t for Claire, as i’ve found it hard to find historical fiction reviews ( except for amazon but that’s a bit different).
I was wondering if Claire or anyone could kindly give me their opinions of the Thomas Cromwell biography by John Schofield, i’m really interested in reading this & am really interested in the part of Anne’s downfall ( as long as he doesn’t do a Bernard )
So thank you very much Claire for kindly reviewing books for your members & visitors, they are very much appreciated- especially with your very busy schedule
Hi James,
Thank you for your very kind words and I’m glad that you find my reviews useful.
The Schofield biography is excellent and I would highly recommend it to anyone wanting to find out more about Cromwell. It’s better than the Hutchinson one, which I also have. Schofield doesn’t do a Bernard at all so don’t worry about that.
