So far, Errol Flynn is my favorite Robin Hood. First love and all. (but I haven’t seen Russell Crowe’s adaption yet.) My favorite Prince John has to be Alan Rickman from Kevin Costner’s Robin Hood. I thought he was so funny as John. Evil and a touch crazy all rolled into one.
OT: Mixed feelings on Russell’s adaptation — felt like they might have tried to put too much into the one movie so that sometimes I felt like I was watching Robin Hood, The Lion in Winter and Elizabeth all at one time LOL But definitely check it out.
LOVE Alan Rickman!
Henry: Mistress Anne, will you teach the king of England how they dance in the French court?
Anne: There is nothing that France can teach England, your majesty.
King Henry VIII: Well said. Well said.

My least favorite Anne is Helena Bonham Carter, although she is one of my favorite actresses.Well, there were many things wrong with this production.First of all:She didn’t look quite the part,in the same way Jonathan Rhys Meyers didn’t
Second:It first showed things that also annoyed me in the Other Boleyn Girl(rape scene)
Third:It reuses the theme that Anne was sexually experienced, but they make it as if Anne slept with every man in the french court(she says something among the lines of how she was tired of french men and that Percy is stupid enough to marry her,if I can recall correctly)
Fourth:Age…I find that though kind of explained, because of the fact that no one knows her actual birthdate and the fact that one must push into a movie events of a decade. So,either Anne in the beginning looks too old or in the end she looks too young.I tend to prefer actresses around 27-32,so they can pull both the younger Anne and the older Anne
Fifth:In this movie,I think only Jane dressed to resembled her historical personality(Thank God,two dresses were reused for the Tudors, but in a more appropriate way for Anne’s character)
Sixth:There were two scenes that made me cringe.Anne and Henry, naked, swimming in one of the palace’s ponds(I bet that Anne would have fainted if she was to see that scene). The second, when the executioner holds up by the hair her head!It is barbaric enough that an innocent person suffered that fate, please don’t show that kind of humiliation
Although,it showed reasonably Anne’s journey and explored her motives nicely, the reasons above make this movie unappealing to me
As for Portman’s Anne, which seems to be the most hated.Well, the thing is that I like Portman’ Anne but I hate the plot she was stucked in.When I first saw Portman dressed as Anne,I was not aware of the Other Boleyn Girl and I was happy because she looks the part a lot and actually fits the descriptions given for Anne. The movie(and the whole plot)is so messy and bad-delivered that it makes me dizzy. Both Boleyn girls become boring and one-dimensional,one as the goody and the other as the bad witch. So Portman, even through has to fight with a stupidly written character, meant only to inspire dislike, she manages to give him more depth, make him more likeable. In the end she steals the show from Scarlett, making Anne the center of this movie while she tries her best so her character comes closer to Anne than the Queen from Snow White. In conclusion:Natalie Portman had the potential but the script didn’t.
My least favorite Henry? That is Eric Bana for sure. The only thing in common with Henry is his body type and age.Other than that….What are his motives? To sleep with every Boleyn girl? Was he even in love with Anne?If Marry was his love then why he didn’t even aknowledge his son?Every bit about this Henry was so messy that made me dislike him more than the usual dislike Henry earns

Boleynfan said:Hmmm, I'm not sure about Henry, but my favorite Anne acting-wise is Natalie Dormer and my favorite Anne physical appearance-wise is, don't hate me for saying this!, Natalie Portman. My least favorite Anne? I'd have to agree with you, Tina: Henny Porten.
I wasn't sure what to think of Natalie Portman — and no, I didn't have problems putting her Princess Amadala aside LOL (I didn't even like Star Wars chapters 1-3 but that's another story LOL). But there were moments, physically, when she struck me as how I thought Anne might have looked.
What is this Star Wars 1-3?????
Forces whiny Anakin and Jar-Jar Binks back into the donjon…
It's always bunnies.

Yeah, I'm still trying to shove that one (those 3) into the deep, deep recesses of my mind.
Okay — will recommend something to those of you that also wish you could forget, or you keep thinking “No, they do NOT exist.”

Red Letter Media has now posted reviews of all three, but WARNING: HUGE R-Rating (or for Mature Audiences ONLY) for often obscene language, occasional obscenities and some vulgarities involving…well, a warning I took from others…when he starts talking about Twinkies, TURN YOUR HEAD! I did and I think I'm happier for it LOL I know one thing though — I've never seen a more boring use of sofas and chairs and corridors in my life (you'll see what I mean as you watch).
And if you can, start from the beginning with the takedown of Phantom Menace and go from there.
