After waiting for this to come back in stock at Amazon, I fiinally got it.. YAY
This book is absolutely beautiful. Everything is in full color, and large enough for you to try and decipher what it says.. (I do not speak Latin, but it's worth a try). There is a full color print of Anne Boleyn, and it does speak of her, and what her influence was in his reign. Also, there are maps that are not just sized to fit on one page. There are fold-outs of certain pictures and maps, which are interesting to look at..
I have never been to the UK, (very sad I know) and since I couldn't make it to the festivities or what not, this was great to have in place of that. I'm still looking through it, and I am not disappointed at all. If you can get your hands on a copy, I would heartily suggest it.
I also bought “The Collected Works of Elizabeth I”. Which is also an awesome find. It has her letters, speeches, and other important documents relating to her. It's in order from her time as princess to her successful reign. I haven't finished it yet, (with having to read Homer and taking Advanced Photoshop), but plan to take my spring break and finish it. You can almost hear her reading the letters out loud.
Sadly this Amazon spree is at an end, however, another one will come around.. And then my fiancee will really make me buy a kindle.. LOL

Now, I really am going to have to get Henry VIII: Man and Monarch! I've been holding off buying it, wondering if it was worth it but I'm just going to have to! Sounds like a nice coffee table book too, beautiful and interesting.
I got a Kindle, Sabrina! I put all my birthday money together and got one. I love it! I've downloaded David Starkey's Six Wives and Alison Weir's Henry VIII: King and Court and it is extremely useful in searching for phrases etc. because the Weir books I've got have absolutely useless indexes (indices??) and you can never find what you're looking for, whereas, with my kindle, I can just type in a word or phrase and then do a search – brilliant! Obviously not all books are available in Kindle versions but I think the list will grow. There are also lots of sites around selling cheap, and even free, Kindle friendly book – fab!
Anyway, thanks so much for the feedback on Man and Monarch and also the Elizabeth book – I'll blame you when my hubby wonders where all our money is going lol!!

It's ok to blame me.. I'm in a different country, so I'm not worried if he wants to send me to the Tower.. I'm too far away.. LOL
They now have a kindle for PC, which was free.. I downloaded it, and did get some free classic books for it. I plan to get more books electronically, but I still love to actually hold the book and read it. I hope the list grows, as some books on my wishlist are not on Kindle yet.
The Henry book is usually in limited stock. I saw that it was finally available and jumped at it. It would make a nice coffee table book, however with my young, destructive children, it's hiding in my room. My daughter likes the dresses of that time period (she's 4), and I would be very upset if I found pages missing. LOL.. by the way, the Elizabeth book was about 15.00 US, so it wasn't too bad.. But oh so worth it.

I bought the actual Kindle itself because I like to read curled up on the sofa and just can't get comfy reading on my laptop. I can also put PDFs on it and so tend to read those on the Kindle rather than my computer, much easier.
I know what you mean about holding books and I was a bit worried about making notes and highlighting things, which I tend to do, but you can do that on the Kindle so I'm a happy girl.
I'll have to look how much that Elizabeth book is on Amazon UK, I'd definitely want that as a book and not the Kindle version. I know what you mean about Man & Monarch not being suitable for your coffee table, mine neither, would be liked to get orange juice all over it!
