I'm sooo excited about this – such a shame we have to wait several more months!
Anyway, has anyone seen the cover 'cos I was wondering about the portrait used. I've never seen that portrait before, let alone in connection with Mary. Does anyone know anything further about it?
(sorry, i'd put a picture of the cover up but I'm having trouble with images etc on my computer at the moment…. Grrr!)

If you go to her website, you can see the cover (scroll down to the second item on the page)

I don't recognize this picture, either.

I'm so excited and ready to read this!!!
If you read down on the website she says:
“A note about the U.S. jacket image: There is no authenticated portrait of Mary Boleyn, so it was felt that an image of an unidentified lady of the period would work best. This particular portrait is in the Pushkin Museum in Moscow and shows an unknown lady of the French court in the costume of the 1520s. Having spent some time – possibly years – in France, Mary Boleyn would probably have worn such fashions. ”

Thanks for the info
Rats though, 'cos I was kind of hoping that that portrait was a newly discovered one of Mary. It would be so nice to have a definitive image of her (and Anne!). I think I'd rather they stick to the traditional after-Holbein one of her than have some unknown lady that probably had no connection to the Boleyns whatsoever.

I am never sure what to expect from Alison Weir. I hope the book is well done. Although, I am not sure how much (credible) information about Mary Boleyn exists. I am sure I'll read this if my local library orders it, but after reading The Lady in the Tower, I am not sure if I can stomach to buy another Weir book.
