I just finished “The King's Grace” by Anne Easter Smith and was wondering if anyone else had read it and/or this author's other books. I really enjoyed this fictional story about the illegitimate daughter of Edward IV (who was mentioned, as far as we know, only once in history) and her quest to solve the mystery of the Princes in the Tower. I loved what Smith did with the story and would like to read her other books. Any thoughts?

Hi HannahL and welcome.
I enjoyed “The King's Grace.” I also read two other books by her. “A Rose For The Crown” and “Daughter of York.” Both are excellent fictional works. The first is about Richard III's supposed mistress. The other is about Edward and Richard's sister, Margaret. Both are great reads.
“The Sunne In Splendour,” by, Sharon Kaye Penman is also about this time period. This one is about Richard's life. She writes with a great deal of attention to historical fact. One of my favorites authors of fiction. She also wrote quite a few books about Eleanore and Henry II. She brings history to life for the reader.
Hope this helps.

HannahL said:I do too, although right now I know very little about it. But I definitely would like to check out some nonfiction on the subject.
Believe it or not, Alison Wier wrote an excellent book about the Wars of the Roses, “Lancaster and York”, but avoid her book on the Princes like the plague. Its appalling. She relied to heavily on Thomas More's version of events.
