Has anyone seen the BBC Version of the Other Boleyn girl? I watched it last nite…and I am wondering why I did today! aha!

This was the book that started my obsession and I hated both movies but they are kind of like a car accident you are passing on the highway..You don't want to look but you have to.

The only thing that I did like about it was the actress that played Anne (at the beginning only) really resembled Anne in the paintings that I have seen.

Other then that I can't say anything else nice about it: Mary was too old, George was as charming as a rock, Anne crumbles after Elizabeth was born, Jane Parker who?

Definately not a thumbs up for me! At least the Hollywood version has Eric Bana!

I just finished watching it…

At first I was resolved to respect this unusual take at period drama but by end I could not help but laughing out loud. The part when Anne was literally on her knees begging (I wish I was making this up) for George to sleep with her made me feel a little sick.I think they actually did imply that they slept together in the end.

As for the portrayal of Mary; it is completely untrue, especially the part when she is reflecting in shame about laying with a man other than her husband…did she get amnesia after arriving from France?

I will not go deep into the costumes (considering after all, this was a rather low budget production) but I just find it funny that before becoming Queen, Anne's clothes changed once in a while, but after coronation she is seen in every scene in the same plain black dress.

Sorry no thumbs up here

I watched it years ago when it first came on TV.  I was so looking forward to it – and then so horribly disappointed.  It truly is terrible. That's probably why I haven't bothered watching it since, despite it being an extra on my Six Wives of Henry VIII DVD.

Now there's a proper Tudor drama  Laugh
