I’ve just finished it and it was better than I thought it would be. I particularly liked the supernatural element to it, the idea that Henry was tormented by demons, though ones pretty much of his own making so I thought the psychology of it all was pretty good. Especially for a book primarily aimed at teenagers. It was surprisingly scary too.

A mark against it though definitely has to be that Henrys adult life was so rushed. I get that its mainly about Henry as a boy and before he became king but you’d think that more time could’ve been spent on his last five marriages! The last five wives were pretty much interchangeable which was a bit of a downer. But it was an enjoyable story nonetheless, just don’t expect too much from it.
