Yesterday I went with my family to the Leeds Armoury museum, in Leeds (surprise surprise!)
I have to admit I 'm not a big fan of guns, swords and other weapons, but there's a Tudor floor and they have a full suit of armour which belonged to Henry VIII (before he became really, erm…large ) and also the horned helmet which was presented to him somewhere around 1511. According to one of the curator's, approximately 30 years ago they were advised to insure the suit of armour for £8million!!! To preserve it it's in quite a dark corner so my photo didn't come out too well The highlight for me though, was a full suit of armour worn by Robert Dudley, thought to be during Elizabeth's visit to Kenilworth Castle in 1575.
If anyone's ever in the region it's definitely well worth a visit.
