I just had to tell you all that I've had THE most amazing short holiday break with my husband and 11 year old daughter. We've been to Stratford Up On Avon, it's been really fantastic. My husband Mark and I have always loved visiting Stratford so we decided we'd go for a few days last week and I must be honest I was a little worried in case our daughter din't find anything of interest as she's a really bright lively child but I couldn't have been more wrong as Louisa loved it!
We visited Mary Arden's House and Farm Park and we completely enjoyed it, the staff dressed as Tudors and worked the farm house and farm and then at midday we watched them eat a Tudor lunch. It was fascinating and I would recommend anyone visiting the UK to try and go there as it was captivating as there was so much going on and of interest. Louisa took part in braiding wool, writing old English and she even dressed as a Tudor! I was fascinated with watching the kitchen staff cook a Tudor meal then watch as they explained Tudor table manners and places in the household. I can't tell you how much we all enjoyed the visit.
We also went to Warwick Castle that too is a must for anyone from anywhere, this really is something and again a truly awesome day especially when we just went in as I was greeted by Henry the eight, lol! Later on in the castle my husband stood on the dress of a lady in a Baroque style dress and she turned around and asked Louisa if she should push her father in the “Porridge Pot”!!!
We really had a fantastic time as the hotel was excellent so was the food and the weather couldn't have been better…..truly fantastic time ;D
