Dr. Brennan and Booth (from Bones)
I have some form of ADD (well at least that's what my fiancee says..) so I'm usually reading and watching tv.. and texting.. There is no cure.. LOL….. and like the rest of us, nothing really gets done until I finish reading the book i'm fixating on. I finished the twilight series in 4 days…. and read the harry potter books that night when they came out.. When I finally got my Eric Ives book, I think I actually put my cell phone down and turned it off to read it.. LOL
Let not my enemies sit as my jury
Ooh yes, forgot Bones – love that and love the Kathy Reichs books too. Love Law and Order SVU too and thinks like Criminal Minds – when I watch TV, I love crime and thrillers.
I love British crime programmes like Inspector Morse (old now), The Midsomer Murders, Wycliffe (old now), The Inspector Lynley Mysteries etc. Did any of those make it to the USA?

Sorry to bump an older thread, but I haven't been on in a few weeks and wanted to 'play'.
Favorite shows…
Autumn, I am also a huge FG fan and adore Stewie! and Herbert.
-The Tudors
-House MD
-The Amazing Race
-Merlin (the BBC's version, this is my new love and I just can't get enough of it. I am obssessed – no exaggeration!)
Couples – I used to just love CSI:NY's Danny and Lindsay, but this past Spring my interest fizzled out. My \”current romance\” is Arthur and Morgana on Merlin.
Noli me tangere
Merlin is fantastic – we watched it as a family and all of us (7 to late 30s) enjoyed it. We've got the DVDs so the kids can watch it over and over. The BBC do make some wonderful series. Has the BBC production of Robin Hood made it to the US? We all enjoyed that too. I love legends and was so interested in King Arthur when my parents took me to the castle at Tintagel in Cornwall. It also scared the life out of me because you had to cross a rope bridge to get to it and it would sway in the breeze and you had the sea crashing below you – they've got a more solid bridge now!!
What's \”The Amazing Race?\”

Claire, I am jealous you have the DVD's! They haven't released it on DVD over here in the US, and the UK versions won't work on our DVD players (different regions, or something). They aired Merlin here over the summer, and a friend of mine has promise to \”hook me up\” with the second season which begins Sept 19. I knew very little about the legends but this has piqued my interest.
I've heard lots of positive feedback about Robin Hood, but I haven't been able to see it.
The Amazing Race is a reality show, where teams travel around the world on a scavenger hunt. It's competition with culture thrown in. They fly from country to country, completing tasks relevant to the area they are in. Because each season has different locales, it never gets old, despite 14 seasons!

Can's say that “Most Haunted” is a big favourite of mine but I found a programme that they did on Hever…
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v…..bOsbRLccN0
If nothing else, there are some nice views of the castle.
Paudie.
If it was not this, then it would be something else?
Hi Emma,
I think we've got a new series of Merlin starting this weekend so I'm looking forward to that. What a shame about the DVDs!
I hope you guys get Robin Hood some time, I think it was produced in association with BBC America so hopefully it should make it on to your channels.
The Amazing Race does sound interesting, wow 14 seasons – must be popular.
Hi Paudie,
I've seen a few clips from those. Can't say I'm into Most haunted either but, as you say, it's interesting to see Hever.

In no particular order:
- How I Met Your Mother
- The Big Bang Theory
- The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson
- Survivor (force of habit by this point)
- The Amazing Race
- Secrets of the Dead (PBS)
- CSI
Does anyone else watch Craig Ferguson? When he's “on”, he's hysterically funny. If you've never had a chance to see some of his occasional opening numbers, you can find a lot of them here:
http://www.huffingtonpost.com/…..29045.html
They're 2 or 3 minutes long, and he dances and lip-synchs to everyone from Britney Spears to Duran Duran (dressed as Simon Le Bon, of course). And he has a back up chorus of sidekicks and hand puppets. No, really! My favorites are “White Lines”, “Oops, I Did It Again”, “Wonderful Night”, “Istanbul” and “Fireball XL5”. You can find “Fireball XL5” here:

I don't know any of those apart from CSI! Oh well!
Sorry I didn't see your post earlier. HIMYM is a comedy that starts out each episode with the character Ted some years in the future telling his son and daughter how he met their mother, reminiscing about the good old days (now) The rest of the episode is a flashback to the anecdote he's telling his kids.
The Big Bang Theory is another comedy. It's about four 'socially challenged' geeks and the pretty girl in the apartment across the hall they try so hard to impress. Wacky hijinks ensue.
Secrets of the Dead follows a team of investigators exploring what modern science can tell us about some of the great mysteries of history. Some of the subjects they've done include The Lost Colony of Roanoke in what is now Virginia. The people of the colony disappeared while awaiting a supply ship from England. Other episodes discuss the Salem witch trials, the Shroud of Turin, the sinking of the Titanic and the bubonic plague.

Claire,
True Blood is based on a book series by Charlaine Harris and being the bookworm that I am, I have read them all and would highly recommend them…but as per our conversations I know your desk is already bombarded with books so maybe not right now! . It is a tad gory but nothing hideous or super revolting!
Merlin was on here for a bit and I have to admit, I couldn't get passed all the inconsistancies with the lore that I am familiar with…I can let A LOT of things go on the Tudors for some reason, but with the Arthurian legend I guess I'm a snob! lol…and I was not a fan of the girl they picked to play Gwen…Love Uther though because he played Giles on my favorite show of all time:
Buffy the Vampire Slayer!!
The shows I watch now are:
PSYCH
The Big Bang Theory
Burn Notice
and (don't laugh too hard) America's Next Top Model!

Gina- I love Buffy the Vampire Slayer!! Such a great show! I wish it was still on tv, but thank goodness for hulu.com because they have the first three seasons.
Claire-I really like True Blood-it's addicting so beware before you start watching it. Although I'm not a fan of Anna Paquin (I think her acting is horrible) the rest of the cast makes up for her. I don't think the show is gory at all.
30 Rock is a show written by Tina Fey about working on SNL. It's a hiliarious sitcom-nice and light.
Glee just started this year and it's a guilty pleasure. It's about a high school Glee club where the students involved are in the lowest social circle. For me it's completely unrealistic because where I went to high school choir/band was just below sports, we had a lot of sports people involved in the choir and the select ensembles. I really like Glee because of how they take classic songs or new songs and turn them into a great choral arangement.

I have actually never watched Buffy, how sad is that?! I might check out True Blood then but migth have to hide my eyes lol! Even though I love the Arthurian legends and loved visiting Tintagel as a kid, I actually enjoy Merlin, I think it's because it is so removed from the story.
Thanks for the explanations on those programmes, but now I want to know what Burn Notice is!
