Groaning with original character beams and charming period features, to say Althrey Hall is an amazing historic house is a bit of an understatement.
Research done by a previous owner suggests that the manor near Bangor on Dee, Wrexham was given by Henry VII to Richard ap Hywel, a direct descendant of Owain Glyndwr the last Welsh ruler and Prince of Wales.
Richard is said to have fought for Henry at the famous Battle of Bosworth and Althrey Hall was his reward.
Considered to be one of the last surviving aisle trussed halls of Wales, every room displays the timber framework so distinctive of the Tudor period.
The striking design of chevron, vertical and herringbone timber beams wraps right around the house.
It's always bunnies.
