Do we have any members in or near Japan? The pictures and videos coming out on the news are horrifying! I shudder to think how many died or lost their homes. I mentioned on Facebook that the video of the tsunami blew my mind; there was one shot of this wave of water, houses and cars (some on fire) rolling unimpeded across open farmland. Absolutely surreal and devastating. As was an airport terminal nearly underwater with crowds of people up on the roof.

And the tsunami has already reached Hawaii. I haven't heard yet about any other Asian countries and damage, but expect it must be significant.

I was stunned when I turned on the news this morning. The pictures coming out of Japan are beyond words. My thoughts and prayers are with the Japanese people. How horrible. The loss and devestation is beyond comprehension.

I know some Tsunami warnings and watches have been issued for the British Columbia cost. The one benefit for the people along the B.C coast is it should be low tide when tsunami waves hit.

Impish, I know which video you are speaking about. I had to watch it a few times to actually believe it. The power of Mother Nature.

That video was the first thing I saw when I turned on the TV this morning.  My thoughts and prayers go out to the people of Japan.  As I write this the Tsunami is about to impact our western coast.  I have not heard anything about the Tsunami hitting any particular Asian country, but they did say 19 countries were under warnings.

I don't know if we have any members from that part of the world, but if we do, I pray they are safe.

Couldn't tear my eyes away from the TV last night…. how utterly and totally horrifying Cry   My heart goes out to the Japanese people.

I've been keeping an eye on the tsunami warnings, one was issued for Northland in NZ but it fortunately passed by without much disturbance.  Hope people are safe wherever the warnings were issued to throughout the Pacific.

I hate earthquakes, we've had far too many of them recently Frown

We had a small quake last year, IIRC less than  a mag 3, which was an experience but the fact that Japan's, and New Zealand's 2 were so much more powerful just freaks me out.

The priinciple of the school my children go to was in Haiti last January when the earthquake struck there, and the school did a lot of fundraising at the time.

Sadly there is a click-jack on Facebook….scum!

It's always bunnies.
