Much missed since her death in 2002, Queen Elizabeth, the Queen Mother is to be subjected to a radical new portrayal by Madonna. Mandrake can disclose that the American singer has cast an actress who appeared naked as Anne Boleyn in the television series The Tudors to perform the role of Queen Elizabeth in a film that she is making about the Edward VIII abdication crisis.

Mandrake can disclose that the American singer has cast [actress Natalie Dormer, who delivered a knockout performance on Showtimes's The Tudors with her portrayal of the doomed Queen Anne Boleyn] to perform the role of Queen Elizabeth in a film that she is making about the Edward VIII abdication crisis.
There, fixed!

Excellent! Good thinking
I am in Egypt and just at season 2 episode 4 at the moment and loving Natalie Dormer. I'd never heard of her before and can't now think of anyone who could possibly have filled her shoes in the role now.
I think a lot of it is in her very subtle eye and face movements. The eyes just suck you in. Like the part where she is speaking to Mary and asking her to recognise her as queen and Mary refuses and Anne flicks her eyes and head in such a way to the side to dismiss her. She really is a very fine actress. I think Jonathon playing Henry uses his eyes a lot too for expression. Widening them to kind of threaten people.
It's absolutely my favourite programme on TV right now here in Cairo. I'm saving all the episodes onto disc so I can watch it all over again next year

Oh yes, Natalie's eyes are totally perfect for the portrayal of a woman renowned for her expressive eyes, even if they didn't give her brown contacts to be historically correct. There is a scene later in the 2nd season where she yanks a necklace off Jane Seymour's neck and then gives this perfect little toss of her head, like “Ha! Take that!” with her eyes just radiating anger and scorn. It's just seconds, but 'says' so much about how Anne feels.

It's getting cranked up now. Looking forward to ever episode and will look out for that scene Impish Impulse.
Fisher and More were executed last night
Madge gets married off and Henry's eyes are seriously wandering!! Poor Anne I really feel for her in one way but then I think she deserves all this because she done the same to Katherine didn't she……………….Karma I suppose.
Now one thing caught my attention last night and hopefully someone can answer this one for me.
When Henry asks Cromwell what the date was of More's execution he said 6th July. Henry repeated it as if it meant something???. Am I wrong? Was the 6th July significant in some way?

I was curious about the date question, so I went and looked up that particular date in history. The closest thing that I could find that had maybe some kind of historical significance to Henry would be that Richard I was crowned King of England on July 6, 1189, and then in 1483, Richard III was crowned King of England on the same day.
Maybe someone else with a stronger knowledge of English history than me can elaborate more fully. My knowledge is pretty much confined to Henry and Elizabeth.
