I have just been reading about Lady Colin Campbell’s latest book on the Queen Mother with claims of really being the child of a French cook also that our present Queen and Princess Margaret were conceived by AI as the Queen Mother ‘did not like sex’.
It got me thinking, here we are only a few years from the Queen Mother’s death and there we have rumours and what have you abounding, which apparently have circulated within the upper circles for decades of course.
No smoke without fire and muddying the waters comes to mind.
We all know of the rumours etc. concerning Anne, Henry and the full cast list of the Tudor era I wondered what you think 500 years from now will have people buzzing about as far as the Windsors go?
I know it is not quite the same as we have much more freedom of information these days so records would be available in 500 years time but even so there would still be the conundrum of fact V fiction, opinions of the pro groups against the anti groups and all that. If it is hard enough for us who are actually living through the time in question to sift true from false how much more difficult 500 away?
I suppose the basics will be Diana so I’ll kick off with that one (I say one but there are quite a few things in her life that are well confused for the general public’s consumption).
edit: just realised I missed out ‘years’ in the title – Royalty: present day family 500 YEARS hence…

Hmmm interesting rumours in that book. I strongly disbelieve the AI theory, only cause it wasn’t developed at the time of the the pregnancies. Of course I could be totally wrong, but I was under the impression that the first IVF baby was 1977/8. Now I know AI isn’t the same as IVF but that’s still a little too out there for my liking. I have a better time believing the Queen’s Mother was the product of an affair than the AI story. Cause even if she didn’t like sex surely she would still be able to lie back and think of Mother England LOL
Hmm 500 years from now, definitely the Diana story will take up a large chunk of the biograpical books – just like the Henry & his six wives take up a large part of that market – plus all the reported affairs of Diana, Charles, Andrew and Fergie. In fact, I could imagine a biography being written about Charles & Camilla or a biopic where they are together then forced apart but the universe proving they were meant to be together.
I can only imagine (and shudder) what a writer like Phillipa Gregory would do with the House Of Windsor

You know I haven’t really gotten into the Windsors much. I’d agree with Bill, on Charles and Camilla, I actually think that’s quite the love story. Although in all honesty I really know nothing about it. But still, it does seem they were meant to be together.
Bill, shhh, you’ll give her ideas LOL. I don’t know if anyone’s done a fictional book on Diana.
