I've never been to the Alhambra, but I would love to see it someday. I recently watched on youtube David Starkey's Mind of a Tryrant mini-series, where he visits the palace several times. Wow, it is a beautiful spot! What a place to Katherine of Aragon to have spent some of her childhood.
"By daily proof you shall find me to be to you both loving and kind" Anne Boleyn
I live just over an hour from it and so I've been there a few times. It is an incredible place, so beautiful, particularly the Nasrid Palace. The one bit I don't really like is the Charles V Palace as it seems so modern (16th century rather and Renaissance) compared to the rest of the buildings. The gardens are spectacular too. Catherine must have been shocked by the “ugliness” of England after living in a palace like that with orange groves, marble, Moorish decoration, running water etc.
