Carolyn–
While I know this year has been nothing short of a nightmare for you, I'm glad to hear that things are ending on a high note. We hear so many sad stories about people with aggressive cancer, I'm always so glad when cancer survivors come forward who have beaten it and have a promising outlook. I think it helps to give others hope. My dad was diagnosed with an extremely aggressive form of leukemia when I was 14 years old…the doctors gave him about a 5% chance of surviving a year. Fifteen years later, he's cancer free and he makes it his mission to talk to other recently-diagnosed cancer patients to let them know that there is hope, and to hang in there. He took 200 rounds of chemotherapy in a year so he knows a thing or two about how bad the side effects of chemo are. Not to mention the radiation to the brain and the chemo to the spinal column.
You hang in there and keep us posted!!

Goodbye, 2010! I hope you don't mind if I say I'm happy to see the backside of you.
Some wonderful things happened this year, including visiting France and (briefly) London, and rediscovering that I have some pretty wonderful friends and family. I also had a few “friends” disappear when I said the word “cancer”, but had plenty of other acquaintances who really stepped up to the plate and made me realize I'd been underestimating them. I've added them to my friends' list. <3
But I'm really happy to see you go and am looking forward to a much better 2011, with treatments done and more friends in my life than I had a year ago!
