Great post, Paudi! I am a Capricorn as well. Born between Christmas and New Year's. More Cappie traits from Athena Starwoman's book, ZODIAC: Athena's Sun Signs: admired, ambitious, caring, classic, clever, critical, cautious, determined, goal-oriented, honest, hospitable, melacholy, powerful, practical, quiet, reliable, responsible, sensible, serious, social climber and stubborn.
Since many members of the group have thought Anne may have been a Leo here are the Leo traits from the same book: adventorous, ambitious, aristocratic, authoritative, capable, confident, courageous, determined, domineering, energetic, enthusiastic, generous, honest, opinionated, optimistic, organized, proud, Selfish, temperamental, vibrant.
Does that describe Anne? What do you all think? I don't recall the biography I read this in but the author made a case that Anne was probably born in late May/early June. That would make her Gemini. Here are the characteristics from Athena's book for Gemini: adaptable, ambitious, charming, clever, curious, exuberant, expressive, fickle, friendly, intelligent, inventive, mischevious, moody, nervous, passionate, restless, romantic, sentimental, talkative, versatile, youthful.
Does that sound more like Anne than the Leo description above? Anyone care to weigh in with opinions?
All best,
Mary Louisa

I don't really believe in astrology, but I was born on September 23, the cusp between Virgo and Libra. I am (just barely) a Libra, with Virgo rising and a Capricorn moon. Also, according to Chinese astrology, I was born in the year of the Fire Horse. (Chinese astrology, as you know, has 12 animals for 12 years, then five elements: there is a 60-year cycle. Women born in the year of the Fire Horse — the last one was in 1966 — are said to be very fiery and not docile. Traditionally, women born in the year of the Fire Horse were hard to marry off. By the way, I have never married )

I think that if one “believes” one doesn't question. I used to be quite involved with astrology before I realised that at every place I went to I was being harrassed to give out details from the top of my head (many people thinking that Astrology is some form of witchcraft) so I moved away and to be honest I had so many other interests. However, I do feel it is a type of “discipline” that has taught me so much about myself and other people and whilst I do not always adher to the advice I should take, I feel much more at home with myself. I am a Scoprio by birth, a Gemini by ascendant with lots of Libra although I have Mercury in Sagitarrius in the sixth house of work.
According to many astrologers, a mixture of Scoprio and Gemeni doesn't work – I think it does veyr well because Scoprio can be all the godo and bad things said about it but it is a fixed sign whereas Gemini is much livelier and mobile and so balances the show.

I'm not a believer in astrology, but I'm a Pisces and from the descriptions I've read, I come pretty close.
Henry: Mistress Anne, will you teach the king of England how they dance in the French court?
Anne: There is nothing that France can teach England, your majesty.
King Henry VIII: Well said. Well said.

We are connected because we like history and Anne Boleyn but I don´t actually see how it could be connected with star signs.
Despite of it, I do believe that star signs may give us some particular characteristics. Some years ago a teacher of mine, in the first class, he asked me “Susan, your star sign is aries?” and I was like =O because it was correct and he didn´t even seen my birthday date. Then he told me that was because I was very direct and decided.
The thing about star signs is that we can´t look just for the star sign but is also important know the ascendant. So I have aries as my star sign and cancer as my ascendant. And both are “very me”. I have the adventure spirit and independence of an aries, but Im a dreamer and a nostalgic person as an cancer.
(if someone wants to know the own ascendant, you can calculate in this web site: http://www.astrologycom.com/asc.html )
“But whether male or female, Aries people are 'doers' rather than 'talkers'. They are the impulsive, act first, ask questions or have doubts later, sign of the zodiac”
I´m kinda better on that, but believe me, it causes MANY problems.

Hey, because today is Henry´s birthday I was reading about his star sign, Cancer, and I found it very interesting. Take a look of some of it:
“They can appear formidable – thick-skinned, unemotional, uncompromising, obstinately tenacious, purposeful, energetic, shrewd, intuitive and wise, sometimes with a philosophical profundity of thought verging on inspiration. Their intimates, however, may see a very different character, one with a sympathetic and kindly sensitivity to other people, especially those they love. They are often over-imaginative and prone to fantasy, sometimes trying to shape their lives to fit some romantic ideal. They are appreciative of art and literature, and especially of drama, where the spectacle and ebb and flow of action and feeling particularly excite them. They may themselves possess considerable literary, artistic or oratorical talent. Interestingly – because they give the impression of being down-to-earth – they are often fascinated by the occult and are more open to psychic influence than the average. If they can reconcile the personal conflict of their urge to be outgoing with the reserve that causes them to withdraw into themselves, then at best they can inspire a generation, especially the youthful part of it, by their idealism.
In their personal relationships they are mentally a mixture of toughness and softness, often emotional and romantic to the point of sentimentality in their fantasies; but in real life and in marriage, their loving is not so sentimental but tenaciously loyal. Even if they have affairs (and they may do so, for the male in particular is open to sensual stimulation), their first loyalty remains to spouse and family, of whom they regard themselves as the protector. They are too easily influenced by those they love and admire, and swayed by the emotion of the moment.
The Cancerian has many potential faults. They can be untidy, sulky, devious, moody, inclined to self-pity because of an inferiority complex, brood on insults (very often imagined), yet are easily flattered. They can be tactless and difficult yet, because they are normally ambitious, they will curry favor by floating with majority opinions, outlooks and fashions of the day. As a result they often change their opinions and loyalties and, indeed, their occupations, and lack stability. They are easily corrupted and, because they are convincing romanticizers, can make successful confidence tricksters. Their romanticism in another sense make them ardent supporters of causes.”
Now, see this list that I found about cancer likes/dislikes:
Cancer:
LIKES
- Hobbies
- Romance
- Children
- Home and Country
- Parties
DISLIKES
- Aggravating situations
- Failure
- Opposition
- Being told what to do
- Advice (good or bad)
Isn´t so Henry? lol
