This was just a thought that struck me the other day – \”Why are Anne Boleyn fans all so nice?\”. It hit me because, as owner of The AB Files, I get emails and contacts from Anne Boleyn fans all over the world and everyone is really lovely. I now feel that I've got friends all over the world and am dying to meet people in May on the tour.
So what is it about Anne Boleyn that attracts lovely people?!

Because you set such a good example. Claire!
(Actually, there are one or two on the AB Facebook Fan club page you wouldn't want to meet on a dark night, though.) It's one of those groups you join and then instantly wish you hadn't – you know that kind of feeling?.
So I am going to stick right here with the Anne Boleyn Files, thankyou. It's nice and friendly and kinda 'cuddly', in a cyber sort of way.
Ah, you're so sweet, Sarah! We are rather cuddly and warm here aren't we? I've never met a horrible AB fan but I'll watch out on Facebook! The only time that I meet people who aren't so nice, in the history world, is when I comment on other blogs that are \”trashing\” Anne Boleyn and I stick up for her! Perhaps I should just stay here but I'm on a mission to educate the world!!

Everyone I have \”met\” while discussing Anne online has been very kind and best of all… understand! I feel slightly less insane when voicing my thoughts about her here. As compared to my poor friends and family! Perhaps those of us who love Anne have felt alone for some time (I have) in our admiration. Finding others just like us is a lovely surprise!
I know from experience how nasty iinternet communities can become, on any topic. Being a dog person, I've frequented multiple dog boards, and let me tell you – wow! It can get ugly fast. This place is a haven. 🙂

Everyone I've met on here has been super nice..
Sarah, I know about those groups on facebook. OMG… I get out of those groups fast..
I think we have an understanding about her, and we all basically agree she was a woman who was an example of what a strong woman should be.. And her husband, no matter what, treated her horribly..
Let not my enemies sit as my jury
Yes a very pleasant place to be on the sometimes unfriendly net.
For what ever reason, we seem to be straight up, even off topic, Claire take a bow,,,
you lead by example and we follow, your loyal AB subjects!
Anyhow I know from personal experience that I am very nice!!
Just the other day, I thanked my parents for making such a good job of me!
Or was that someone else's life I saw on TV???
Aw yes, we are nice and I am so glad to have found the AB files.
Paudie.
If it was not this, then it would be something else?

I like this forum because no one is rude, insulting, or mean..a rare gem in cyperland..I don't know why..maybe those of us who really do connect with Anne have already come to some conclusions in life..it's short, and best handled with tact and grace..
Diem et animus scire cupio: I desire knowledge of the soul.
Thanks for the ego boost guys!
I'm glad that you all find it so homely and friendly here. I actually haven't had to delete or \”police\” any comments or forum posts at all, even when people are obviously in complete disagreement with someone else they still manage to disagree politely. I hate sites and forums where however polite you are people just can't cope with you disagreeing with them and start attacking you personally. It's online bullying and is just not acceptable. You also get \”trolls\” who seem to join sites just to stir up trouble, what sad lives they must lead!
So, I'm glad you're all happy with the atmosphere here and it's down to you guys, not me, you're all just so lovely!

This is my first experience with Anne Boleyn fans. I must say it has been pleasant so far. Everyone here has been very kind to me, and you all welcomed me into your group. When I joined I had a sense that this was a tightly knit group, but I also felt that I could jump in and make myself at home. So I'd like to thank Claire and everyone for makeing me feel welcome here.
Yes, I know how nasty message boards can get. A few years ago I stumbled across an anti-Catholic, Fundamentalist Christian board. They are a nasty piece of work. They think they're right and everyone else is wrong. If you disagree with them, you disagree with God. They insult and/or ban anyone who disagrees with them, and they are always editing and deleting posts they disagree with. And they call themselves Christians
When the legend becomes fact, print the legend.
I'm glad that everyone feels at home here, that was my aim. I wanted this site to be somewhere where you could post on the forum or make a comment without worrying that someone was going to tell you that you didn't know what you were talking about or get all confrontational. We all have our own opinions about Anne and history and we can all learn from one another.
That board sounds awful, ProudtobeCatholic, I think Jesus' heart must break when he sees how religion is used to hurt people like that.

Bad use of religion is sadly something common to almost all human being. And not only religion: I've been on boards about films, comics and other fiction, where if you dare speak of an \”non-canon\” idea or theory, you're almost insulted and what you said is called \”trash\”. So this site's tolerance is so nice and open. Thank you for this wonderful place, Claire

I've only just found this topic! This is exactly what I was saying to my boyfriend the other day. Everyone is just so lovely on here! It's very refreshing considering the intolerance and trouble-stirring you find on most forums. I don't want to sound like a snob, but it seems to follow a pattern of the intelligent people are the most easy going and respectful. And the more unintelligent people wouldn't visit a history-based website anyway.
It's very welcoming to find so many tolerant people. I've been up against so much prejudice throughout my life because I'm a pagan in a family of many devout Christians. I respect their religion but they don't respect mine. But that's by the by. Thank you for being so lovely, everyone!
I hate forums where people jump down your throat or where people like the sound of their own voice and just seem to argue for the sake of arguing! I am so happy that we have built such a friendly community here and that people feel that they can share their opinions and knowledge without being made to feel silly by some nasty person. I'm also glad that I don't have to spend all of my time moderating comments, banning people etc.!
That's so sad about your family, Beth, religion is one of those things that people get so worked up about and it does cause divisions, it's a shame when it's meant to bring love and peace!
Anyway, I feel blessed to know all you guys and I've learned so much from you and so enjoy being able to discuss history with people who love it as much as I do.

Everyone here really does make this forum such a treat to visit. I love reading about everyones thoughts and opinions on Anne – sometimes a comment made by someone has really helped to give me a different perspective on looking at things, or drawn attention to something I'd never really considered before.
Maybe being an Anne fan and knowing what she went through makes us all that little bit more open-minded and understanding!!!

This is the first Forum I have ever felt at home with. I have gone to others but never joined in the conversation. Most are downright nasty. This site gives real insight into the Tudor world and it is very comprehensive. We can discuss our feelings without trashing the other guy. Claire, it is because you set the bar so high. We follow your lead. My friend's and family's eyes glaze over when I bring up Anne and Henry or any of the other parts of history that I love. It is so great to be able to come here and talk about these Royals. Everyone here is great. It is all thanks to you, Claire.
