I think it's impossible to focus on even the politics in Henry's reign without noticing the women in his life. No, Anne Boleyn was not the only reason for the Reformation, and there are some events that would've happened anyway. That said, Henry's divorce from Katherine and his break with the Catholic church opened up a whole new world to Tudor England. Things that had never been considered possible happened. If Henry had stayed with Katherine, there would've been no Edward VI and, much more significantly, no Elizabeth I! I think we have to remember that almost all of Henry's wives each greatly influenced at least one religious and/or political situation. So no, I don't think we are feminising Henry VIII's reign; we are simply focusing on the highly influential females of his time.
