Going back to Henry mourning Katherine Howard I think Chapuys had it right in his letter when he said that Henry mourned her because he hadn’t got the next one lined up!
Yep that’s very true. The same could be said of Jane too. He did mourn her for his own selfish reasons of course, because there was no replacement hovering in the background to distract him.
Henry actually did the right thing by not jumping back into matrimony after Jane’s death. He had what he wanted in Edward, a legitimate son from an undisputed mariage and he could wait for the right lady to found. Allying himself with one of the European powers made a lot of political sense rather than marrying another English lady.
I’m sure Henry had a lady friend or 2 while he was in mourning for Jane.
It's always bunnies.

This is a portrait of unknown lady – I think its Katherine Howard. What do you guys think?
She has a similar headdress in the other paintings of her.
I’ve just had a good look at the broach on the sitters Portrait, and I think it’s of Agnes Tilney. Agnes did have a daughter called Katherine, who died in 1554. But is the portrait of Agnes’s daughter Katherine? or of Agnes’s grand-daughter Katherine?

If the above lady is Katheryn, what a shame such a pretty head was cut off.. I found the below pic and wondered who she was.. She appears to be wearing the Queen’s jewels and the style of clothing, headdress and jewellery is not dissimilar to Katherine Parr. The hand gestures and rings are similar to Princess Elizabeth (the lovely painting of her in a red dress when she was 14. This was labeled “Formerly known as Lady Jane Grey” The posture also looks like Elizabeth, but, who knows, could be Kitty Howard, Katherine Parr.. Why couldn’t Tudor Ladies LABLE their portraits?
The pic you found is pretty conclusively considered to be Queen Katherine Parr, apparently the jewels have been identified, and it is very similar to other portraits. It is known as the Seaton Delaval portrait.

Catherine alledgely stated she knew how to “meddle with a man” and not get pregnant. I am wondering if she used intercural sex at any point during her time in the Duchess’s household, or even with Culpepper. If she did it would explain the “meddle with a man” statement. I believe she and Dereham did have a full on sexual relationship, but she may have also known a rudimentary form of contraception.
