1. The scene where Anne gets ticked off at Henry for taking so long to divorce Catherine, and that she wasted all this time when she could have borne sons by now, something about a woman’s greatest consolation in this life is to bear sons. I LOVE how she storms off saying she’s going home and Henry screams -“I AM THE KING OF ENGLAND!!” – Yeah, knock him out Anne, kapow!! (I personally wish Anne would have walked out and have never gone back to Henry, and be known in history to be the maid that rejected the King, but oh well)…
2. Where Henry and Anne are walking outside and Anne says whether there’s a risk that Henry’s marriage to Catherine can be declared valid….I love the whole scene – the couple is happy and peaceful walking hand in hand yet independent, the garden looks pretty, Anne’s dress seems to be one that Henry bought for her, but then as usual Henry stuffs everything up by saying he has to sleep with Catherine still…and of course that would pee any lady off!
3. (excuse the order of my fav scenes) Right at the beginning where Henry visits Hever Castle in a haste and asks Anne to be his mistress and that he would have an affection for no one else. When I first saw this scene, I literally thought WTF, and then I laughed sooooooo much when Anne’s line/response was -“what have I done to make you treat me like this” – EXACTLY! LOL!!! I love that scene because Anne sets Henry straight as a human being, never mind the crown, can’t treat people like crap just because he has power….
And yep I like the other outside walking scene where they are in their fluffy outfits – they look romantic yet independent, and yep I like the scene where Henry gives Anne all of this nice fabric and the royal jewels to match them – what lady would not be in heaven at this stage either! Except if I were Anne I’d just give Henry a smooch nothing else (LOL!)…..maybe bake him some cupcakes…..
I really like this blog – someone took the effort to go through all of The Tudors fashion!!!!!! it is sooooooo good:

I have a few favourite Anne scenes.
I agree with Bella over the Tower scene in Anee of a thousand Days, but there was a few other scenes in that film that were just as firey and passionate. The scene when they go for a ride and Anne tells him ” I’ve heard what you are and seen what you are. You are spoilt, vengeful and bloody. You make love as you eat, with a great deal of noise and no subtlity.” Her death scene in the film was brilliant too when she looks at the executioner in an almost defiant way so that he has to get his attendant to strike her so he can execute her. To me at least Geneveive Bujold was Anne to a T.
The other scenes I like are in the Ray Winstone version “When Henry is told by Wolsey that Percy and Anne are asking for permission to marry and he says “Well come on woman lets see your face or do you hide it for some reason.” When Anne looks up the smirk and bubble of laughter he had just drops down into his boots. It’s almost as if he’s been hit in the face with a piece of 4X2. (Hmm now there’s a thought LOL)
There is also the dance scene with them too, you can see the passion between them, plus I like the music of that dance scene. Does anyone know who did the music for that scene by the way?
I agree with the Anne’s heartbreaking sobs in the Tudors when she watches her brother die, and the scene when her father is realeased and looks up for the last time to see Anne looking at him almost pleading for him to save her, and all he does is walk away leaving to he fate. Again when she is beheaded and you see her as a little girl in the arms of her father. it’s a very touching moment.
Did Anne actually watch her brother and her freinds die? After all she was alledgely kept in a room which was within view of the execution scaffold?

Hi everyone!
long time no chat! Hope we are well.
Great news! I personally have never seen the whole The Tudors Showtime series, but I started seeing it from Mark Boleyn’s youtube channel (and when I realised how sexualised the real series truly is, it put me off, so was personally glad that Mark Boleyn put the ‘clean’ bits of the show on youtube). Anyways, Mark Boleyn’s whole channel got pretty much wiped earlier this year because of ‘copyright’ issues….I just checked his channel out now, and YAY he has posted the Anne Boleyn parts! If you’re into the cleaner story, I totally recommend his channel:

The Tudors was over sexualised, but i think the imagery is beautiful. I love Natalie Dormer, although she is not exactly what I imagine Anne to have been like. I really think however that her capturing of Anne’s death and the events that led to it are incredibly emotive and nothing I have yet seen has been quite as good. The scene where she drags over the chest and stands to watch George die brings me to tears every single time, and I don’t think it matters whether facts are not entirely followed when acting of this great callibre is involved. The cry she makes resonates even after you have watched it many times, and I think that quality of portrayal comes once in a generation and her Anne will be remembered long after Dormer has been cast in other ventures, and has grown old and grey. I think we can all fall into the trap of imagining Anne as our favourite tv or film representation of her, which is true for any historical figure. But the whole aim of representation of this kind is to evoke human feeling, and identify humanity in an historical figure, whom in this case seems quite elusive. Despite the sex scenes and the soapy episodic nature of The Tudors, I love it, and I love Natalie Dormer, and even Johnathan Rhys Myers, although he seems to age well during the series compared to old Hal, but I guess if that aspect was accurate no one would have watched the last two series, and certainly no one would have at all enjoyed watching him chase after Kathryn Howard! I personally always imagine ‘Fat Bastard’ from Austin Powers when I visualise Henry VIII, i think it’s a coping mechanism lol

Love the Austin powers anallegy Tash. The thing is you are right he was a fat bastard although unlike the Austin powers charater Bad old bluff Hal stunk up the place. I bet when Hal died it took them a month to air out the place, not to mention everyone raiding their gardens for herbs to help remove the stink.
I agree Anne’s cry when she watched her brother die really did tear at my heart. I should imagine that the real Anne must have felt the same heartache as was portrayed. I thought the scene when her father looked up and saw her looking well pleading with him and he just walks away.

I don’t know about the stink, that’s the part of Fat Bastards character I think makes him apt, he’s always farting after a poignant speech, or talking about his ‘crap’ ie “I’ve got a shit on board that could choke a donkey!” and then there’s “I ate a baby! Aye! It’s the other other white meat, BABY! It’s what’s for dinner!” Perhaps that’s what really happened to Henry’s children….and then there’s “I’m Dead Sexy! You were CRAP!”
