For me, I think Genevieve Bujold’s portrayal of Anne is the best in that she had that hint of a French accent, and attitude about her, she also portrayed her as the very strong and determined person that I think Anne must have been like, and of course, she brought the wit and charm of Anne that so appealed to Henry. But I also like Natalie Dormer’s portrayal because I think she brought a bit of likeability factor to Anne that Genevieve didn’t bring. And though many have said that Natalie didn’t look like her I kind of disagree. Though she does have blue eyes –whereas Anne’s, of course, were brown– they are mysterious like those of Anne’s in her paintings. However, I felt that she portrayed Anne as if she genuinely loved Henry (which, I don’t believe she did) for instance she looked genuinely hurt that Katherine was still making his shirts and not because it meant Katherine stood in her way to become Queen.
Also, has anyone else noticed that most of the main characters/actors in the show have Blue eyes?!

This may be a little off topic, but i joined the Natalie Dormer page on facebook, marked as official, eventhough it soon became clear that it was in fact ‘manned’ by a girl from punjabi, and i am continually amazed at the amount of fans who clearly cannot define between Natalie and Anne. On the date of Annes beheading, there were legions of fans who left comments that amazed me, things like ‘you poor beautiful woman, you died so unfairly’. I can understand if people can associate Natalies depiction of Anne with their idea of Anne, but surely these people realise that Natalie isnt actually Anne. Check it out on Facebook if you like, you will be able to tell which one it is cos im on it moaning and groaning at people! lol some of the comments are pretty funny, and some of them a little pathetic, but oh well, its not like its an Anne Boleyn forum, where we are all so serious and completely correct with our ideas
I have seen this page on Facebook also as well as joined not to mention the website and I have to say that I am quite surprised as I never ever saw these comments being left and surely they must know that it is not her and do they both have the same name as one another and do they even look alike ?

I agree they have all played her well even the other actors and actresses playing the other parts have also played their parts well too.I have noticed just like you that a lot of the cast like you said seem to all have blue eyes I wonder why that is or could be?

It’s been a while since anyone posted in this topic, but I just thought I’d add my opinion. I absolutely love Natalie Dormer as Anne Boleyn! Genevieve Bujold did a good job, no question, but Natalie Dormer was the one who eventually made me want to know all there is to know about Anne Boleyn, and after I did my research, she’s still the Anne I love most. It is not really a factor for me that she portrayed Anne as though she genuinely loved Henry, because nobody knows whether she did or not. Besides, it was a TV show made to entertain a wide audience, so that was probably how the relationship between Anne and Henry was written by the producers. They did add a nice twist by Anne confessing that she didn’t care much for the King at first though!
