Just to say that there is now a forum over at The Elizabeth Files – http://www.elizabethfiles.com. I've only just set it up so it's very empty so please post. Thanks!

One question Claire, regarding the Richard 3rd post, who would post on a Tudor site an utter rant saying how much they hate the Tudors? It takes all sorts I suppose, but I found it a little sad and disrespectful.
My thoughts exactly, Neil. I read the post and though so what?

I read it and it made my day. Made me feel very normal in comparison. but also slightly worried that he comes from my country, thankfully nowhere near him. I couldn't resist and had to write back with a legitimate question, not that I'm expecting a reply. But I guess it helped him get it off his chest and hopefully he has moved on.

Bill, I read your question over at the Elizabeth Files and I think it is a very appropriate one. I doubt if he will return, but if he does, I anxiously await his reply.

To everyone who read the Richard 3rd rant, we are it seems not alone. Roger Deshon posts numerous reviews on” Amazon” (which seem normal) but also posts (on other sites) reports on dates that are important to him, such as Cromwell's death, where he launches into the same “burn in the fires of hell” rant. So I don't think he will ever get it out of his system, he seems something of a publicity junkie, the best that can be hoped I think, is that he never returns, otherwise we may be in line for another blast in response to Bill's very good question. Fingers crossed everyone (I feel safe, being 12000 miles away!).

I’ve had no trouble looking at the Elizabeth Files forum, which looks good. One question Claire, regarding the Richard 3rd post, who would post on a Tudor site an utter rant saying how much they hate the Tudors? It takes all sorts I suppose, but I found it a little sad and disrespectful.
I can sort of understand his/her view, but it was disrespectful.. I mean if you think about it, the Lancashire line Red Rose was the true line, and the Yorks usurped it. If there hadn’t been the battle between the roses, Henry 6th son Edward would have ruled after him, and history would have been very different. Another fact is that Henry Tudor won the right for want of a better word, to take the throne, through conquest, William the Conqueror, did the same. He wasn’t really anything to do with England other than through his Aunt Emma of Normandy. Yes Edward the Confessor, named him to succeed him, but what good would he be in Normandy, so Edward the Confessor named Harold as King instead. We all know what happened at Hastings, but the point is William like Henry 7th won the Crown and England by combat. There were better claiments than Henry, The Duke of Buckingham for one, and then of course there were the Pole’s who again had a closer claim to throne. But not one of them made a play for the crown, either at Bosworth or at any other time during Henry 7th reign. The 2 pretenders well they may or may not have been Royal, who knows, but they were quickly put down along with any supporters they had. The Duke of Buckingham only became vocal about his claim in Henry 8th reign and as a result lost his head for it.
The same could be said about William the Conqueror, there were claiments with a far better claim than his and yet he managed to hold onto the throne.
As for loving or hating the Tudors I rather think it’s a Marmite Thing with them, you either love them or you hate them. Me personall I love them Well Duh would be posting on a forum if I didn’t. They made mistakes, but then that only means that they are human, Henry’s disaterious love life was a real tangled web, but at the same time no one can say that Henry was boring. His whole life was extremely complex and mysterious, as were his wives.
