Hi! I haven’t been of here in months!!! And i’ve really missedit, i hope you guys didn’t forget me.
Any ways I was beyond excited when the recent news of Richard III’s skeletal remians were found and today I came across the facial reconstruction that was conducted. here’s the link: (hopefully working) http://www.rr.com/news/photo_g…..1178660%2F
I love this! I get to actually see some kind of vision with him now, for me it’s hard to imagine that with just paintings but seeing the facial reconstuction I can actually imagine him walkling and talking and laughing…it seems more real to me. We had a discussion a while back about the possibility of Anne’s bones being dug up and a facial reconstuction done and I think everyone’s opinions were split – some were for it and some weren’t. I, personally, am not exactly comfortable with the whole disturbing the peace and I think she should be left alone but on the other hand i’d absolutely love to see a facial reconst. I mean we all have our views on how Anne actually looked but seriously wouldn’t it be awesome to have this done like Richard III ?!
• Grumble all you like, this is how it’s going to be.
Hi, i’m fairly new here so nice to meet you.
I loved the facial reconstruction aswell. I thought he looked a more kind and gentle person than his portraits which look very stern and uninviting for conversation. I’d be much happier making chit chat wie actual Richard III based on how he really looked.
I know what you mean about hte whole Anne Boleyn thing. I had to admit I did very initally think “oh wow wh don’t they do that with Anne ….or a lot of other Monarchs for that matter”. But then I thought its kind of mrbid (right word for this context?) and rather selfish to disturb somebody who has been laid to rest peacefully just for hte purpose of curiosity of what they REALLY looked like. Its still rather tempting though!!
Woohoo I'm normal...gotta go tell the cat!

Hi Mya,
So nice to have you back with us. You were missed.
This has been a very exciting time for history buffs. I think the face of Richard is very interesting. He looks younger than he does in his portrait, but it is very close. I always have problems with the portraits. The reconstruction of what he may have actually looked like helps to make him real. I feel the same way you do about disturbing Anne’s grave. She’s already been disturbed once and I think that’s enough. Yes, I would like to know what she really looked like, but I’m okay with the way I picture her in my mind.
