I know that \”The Tudors\” are full on inaccuracies, but could they have understood something about Mary and Philip of Bavaria? I'm reading Linda Porter's \”The Fiurst Queen\”, and, talking about the courtship of Mary by Phiip, she says that they met ( not an average thing for royalties in this time), chatted together and even kissed. The only point she precised was that she didn't want to become a Protestant, and I think that Philip didn't minded since he offered her a cross. Maybe they were truly in love, or at last had affection for each other. And since they had learn to know each other, they could have known a successful wedding, unlike the \”e-bay\” royal wedding of this time ( choose your wife while only knowing a picture of her, wait for the delivery and discover what you truly bought after)!
